You are Johan von Beck, a new recruit in the Great War, or World War I. You have been sent to the Western Front to fight for the Fatherland and will continue on a long and arduous journey of brotherhood, brutality and survival. There is one true ending, though some paths may lead to endings where you survive. The lesser endings generally involve a hefty price.
