First, is anyone interested? The premise of the RP is to create a character, and roleplay accordingly to the setting. I would like to garner 5-10 individuals before throwing some ideas out there.

but my character will only pretend to be the good guy. I have this thing with the central character not surviving.

I'm in. Do we come up with characters first, and then find out the setting, or what?

As long as certian rules are established than it's usually okay to make your own character. Guess we will find out then.

Hmm, I've been thinking about doing one of these myself...there seems to be enough interest.

So what kind of RP do you want? Fantasy, modern, future? And Bo, I have experience with these. A lot.

Futuristic might be a nice change of pace.

nah, futuristic is too straightforward. It's only " X takes a laser, pulverizes Y, then Z fires with the ion cannon and the universe goes BOOM"
Modern? What coiuld modern people do, chew gum and join the mafia?
so i'd chose fantasy.

Modern can be better than you think. Not really that different from using ranged weapons in fantasy settings (unless you're using knives or bats or something of course), you'd just have to twerk the combat system a bit to include rate of fire and ammo used.

How bout creating a RP where we have to create a fantasy creature like a dragon or something similar? :D and then we duke it all out trying to survive in a land destroyed by a nuclear war and all the creature that are here now are actually mutated from humans millenium ago and magic is really just the ''magical creature'' manipulating radiation and stuff?

i vote near future. No lasers, but really good weapons.

So like fallout but with fantasy throw in? <-- maybe

 You should make it so people are newly discovering magic or are losing their ablity to use it during the story.

Reminds me of Guanyin's attempted game. There was no way that game would have worked, but the idea is similar.

lol i wasn't voting for steampunk i was just suprised as to why it was not on the list. I actually vote fantasy. sorry about that.

Usually it's a magic-based world with either dwarf's or humans introducing tech at an alarming rate. I always think of it like roman empire tech but with guns and steam-powered robots thrown in.

  I belive it is the best possible rp setting but it usually crumples if the GM or players are not careful. Now that I think about it, if enough people vote steampunk i'll change my vote to that if it's allowed a 2nd time.

I'm also working on a massive stroygame with a lot of factions and battles in a fantasy setting, like goblin invasions, centaur raids, ancient undead beasts... and cyborgs trying to take over the world from their massive airship. Steampunk all the way!
