It's a strange building, one that started small and grew piecemeal, and in odd directions. Likewise the interior, when you venture in, is a hodge-podge of styles. No two pieces of furniture match, right down the bar-stools with their varying sizes, heights, and colors. The occupants are equally eclectic. Whoever you are -- whatever you are -- you'll probably fit in here.
OOC: This is the continuation of The Tavern Between the Worlds. To try to keep things manageable, I'll be starting a new thread fairly often. Feel free to wrap up your business over there, and jump in here when you're ready.
There's a sign labelled "OOC" with some rules:
Lady Gray vaults lightly onto the bar, gaining four feet of height and almost everyone's attention.
"All right, folks! I hate to interrupt, but we have a horde of demons incoming in ten hours! Anyone who doesn't want to be involved, now might be a good time to arrange to be elsewhere. Those who are willing to help out -- in exchange for credit at the bar, of course -- please step up and let me know what you can do."
OOC: Feel free to reply to the first post instead of this one, to keep the nesting at bay. ;P
West puts down his drink and clears his throat before speaking. "How many do we have to kill? 36 of them? That shouldn't be too hard." He says and casually nods his head. "I'll help I guess. One question though. How much credit do we get for fighting?"
Lady Gray nods. "Good question. Assuming it comes to a fight, mind you -- we're not starting this. We'll have ourselves a little stand-off outside the tavern, and hopefully these demons will decide to keep on moving. In that case, it's drinks on the house for the rest of the night."
"If there's a fight, though... she glances at the bartender, who makes a gesture with the hand he's not pouring with. "Fifty credits each. And a hundred-credit bonus if someone takes down their leader... besides me." She grins a toothy grin.
(OOC: Currency is a little tricky, Between. But credits (and more commonly, debits) can be exchanged for pure metals, or any currency ever minted or printed. At present, a credit is worth a bit less than three U.S. dollars.)
"West good to see you here old pal." Nick says with a smile on his face. As he goes to sit down he falls onto the floor withering in pain. The scream coming from his mouth is unearthly and lights in the bar flicker as the shadows pull towards Nick.
"Damn," says Lady Gray. For a flickering fraction of a second she's torn between waiting to see what happens to Nick or going to see what she strongly suspects is approaching the tavern... then thinks better of going outside to face it alone.
"Corrigan, scout," she snaps in one direction, then glances in another, and makes an over-here gesture at someone.
(OOC: Anything interesting going on outside yet, or is this strictly an indoor phenomenon? ;)
OOC( depends if a host is about 5 miles away would you see them from where the tavern is at or not?)
As the patrons in the tavern watches nick the lights go at one by one as the place goes more quickly in the darkness. Slowly the withering form on the ground changes shape Growing taller and forming curved horns with fire between them. His eyes go form a pale red to a swirling red and orange color so brilliant it seems to catch the essence of fire itself. His voice becomes deeper as his muscles bulge and slowly a long tail forms underneath him. Suddenly all the fires in the room relight and are brighter then they were when first ignited the flames point to the form in the middle of the room. As the demon form of Nick stands 8ft tall and powerful looking he says in a deeper voice that sounds as if Hell itself is speaking booms. "They are close."
Lady Gray looks at Nick, just about at eye level with him, from her position on the bar. She doesn't seem alarmed... if anything, she looks favorably impressed by his new form.
"How close is 'close,' says Lady Gray, "Rather less than ten hours, I assume?"
(OOC: Corrigan has a vantage point of about 500 ft up... I'm guessing he can make out that something's coming, but nothing really useful yet.)
"They are really close" said Alvin, "The archeologist in the old ruin I was in earlier was taken over by demons before I came here! We need to defend ourself now! I will prepare a spell that will cover the tavern, this spell will negate a demon's power and give us a fighting chance"
Alvin then went and sat down on the center of the place, close his eye and proceed to chant a long string of words. The floor began to glow a pentagram sign.
OOC: I will be partaking in this as said in the other thread.
Before Alvin makes his circle he finds himself picked up off the floor. Nick looking at him states, "You will limit my power if you complete that circle."
Looking to the Grey lady, "5 miles."
"You think all of us here can actually stand a chance against over 30 demons? My spell can render all of them to become as weak as a human despite it effecting you as well and we can pick them off as easy as taking candy from a baby" state Alvin. Glaring at Nick, Alvin carry on with his spell.
Uising his demonic hell fire Nick creates a circle of fire around Alvin, forming a magic circle that prevents all magic users from using there craft inside. "Listen to me!!!"roars Nick at the young man. "There is a Demon Lord in that group most magic from humans fall off of them like nothing. If you want to give this place the best chance for survival follow my lead. From what lady Grey has said this establishment has fended off attacks before and I know there is at least one other capable warrior in here West." then Nick's eyes burning says, "Are you going to help or not? Also if they see me here gaurding this place they might be less likely to attack. Because who my father is in their society." Finally calming down a bit. Nick ask, "So will you help or not?"
OOC: Strange how you got out of my grasp without me saying I dropped you but whatever.
OOC:Well, I just assume you pick me up then down just to disrupt the spell
"I'll help in my own way!" shouted Alvin. With this, he literally jumps out of the circle, catching fire in the process but manage to cast 'teleport' and went away.
West nonchalantly takes a drink from his beer before standing up. He clears his throat and says "Nick, I agree with what you're saying but I won't let you kill him. If you do, this whole place will become a bloodbath before the Demons even get here. Fuck it, I'll even help you knock him out if he persists but we can't kill each other until the threat is destroyed. We need all of the allies we can get right now," and pulls out his sword for emphasis.
He looks at Lady Gray before speaking again. "After this is resolved, we can go outside and scout ahead if you want. I trust Nick more than any of you but I still want to get a more accurate assessment of the situation."
Edit: OOC: Alvin must've posted right after I began with mine so let's just assume my post happened first or it'll throw everything out of whack.
Nick dissipates the fire. Nothing on the ground appeared burnt or scorn. Looking over a west he says, "As much as I want to scout with you, I would be a liability because they can sense me like I can sense them." then with a smile he says, "I could give you some protection against them that would make you less likely to get caught if you want it."
OOC: Glad we are acting like old friends I was hoping you would do that since both our characters are from the merc thread. edit: Damn forgot to use the fake account.
The situation defused, West relaxes a little and sits back down and says "I'm one of the world's best assassins, I'd be surprised if one of them caught a sideways glance at me. I'm not one to turn down free help though, so what do you have?"
"A simple unblock able spell that can transport you back here in a blink of the eye" says Nick making a few hand gestures he throws you a piece a paper and says,"if you find yourself in trouble say my name and you should get back here quick."
OOC: Instead of continuation, how bout it being a thread simply for the even of the demon horde? The previous thread can continue but those who partake in the demon horde can come here. It would be a little confusing if we have to change for every little event wouldn't it? Despite this, I have wrote a conclusion of some sort at the previous thread, and will be posting here unless stated otherwise.
OOC: I'm just concerned that enormous nested posts are going to put newcomers off -- and get kind of convoluted for the rest of us, too. But we'll see how it goes.
OOC: Are we using the same "universe" from the RP Legion started, or is it a brand new one?
OOC: You're welcome to bring in your character, but I'd say it's an alternate universe -- that way if Legion's game gets going again, characters can be in both places at once.
Carrie glances at the commotion and laughs with a shake of her head. "I'll help in any way I can." She shrugs and finishes another shot.
Lithea has been watching all of the men fighting. She quietly walks over to Lady Gray and curtsies formally. "I would be honored if you would allow me to offer you my assisstance." In the back of her mind, the girl is wondering which of the demons she will have to face this time.
Lady Gray nods to Carrie, then smiles approvingly at the girl. "I would be very pleased to have your assistance. Thank you." Perhaps she could make time to help with the girl's training, thinks Lady Gray... but that will have to wait.
OOC: Just asking but must every post be in/about the tavern or can I post my character's adventure in other world? Edit: Also can I play the demon horde? :D
OOC: Absolutely, feel free to start a thread about your character's adventures elsewhere. I'd suggest indicating near the top if the thread is open to anyone (like the main Between the Worlds threads) or if you'd prefer people to PM you or ask OOC'ly to join in.
(OOC: Is someone going to be playing the demon horde? Or can we just start the commotion whenever?)
can I be a demon?
(OOC: I think that each of us can play 2 or 3 demons when the demon horde 'attacks' (which I think should be at any time) and then Morgan can play the leader since he plays the bartender and Lady Gray, the main people of the tavern.)
(OOC: Oh yes, and I'm starting my part of the attack in this post.)
There is a sudden flash outside and loud screeches erupt into the air.
"They're here," Lithea whispers.
Carrie jumps up and shouts, "Destroy the demons!"
Those who are going to attack the demons all run outside and are met with dozens of demons, all floating around and laughing loudly.
"Death to the mortals!" they're cackling with glee.
"Demons of the Damned," the girl mutters. "Otherwise known as 'Joyous Death' Demons."
"What do they do?" Carrie asks.
"They kill for the fun of it."
The demons laugh loudly and swarm the defenders.
OOC: I nominate cool74 to play the demon leader, since he came up with the idea. I'll play him if he doesn't want to, though.
(OOC: I can second that. I'm continuing my part since nobody else is replying.)
One of the demons glares at Lithea and hisses, “You again! You little brat!”
The girl takes a deep breath and stands stiffly and relaxes. Her tension leaves her body and she’s perfectly still, her eyes closed. She reaches into her pocket and takes out a knife.
One of the demons, obviously the newest demon of the group, starts charging her.
“Idiot,” one of the other demons mutters.
The new demon lunges at her, it fangs open wide and his eyes glowing red. Lithea’s eyes flick open and they’re glowing yellow. She lifts up her knife—which is now an astonishing violet color—and slices upward, right between his eyes. The demon shrieks and dissolves into the wind.
Another demon cries, “How did you know the weak spot of that demon?!” All demons have one particular weak point that destroys them, but mortals almost never know where that point is.
She only mutters in reply, “The curse of a demon’s burden has bestowed upon my being.”
With that she charged to strike the rest of the demons.
West aims his armbow at a demon and sends an arrow in it's head before spinning around and doing the same to another. As he pulls out his sword, another demon comes at him and West steps backward and falls down. The demon advances on him but West finally unsheathes his sword and stabs the demon in the chest.
West stands up to a crowd of demons surrounding him. Knowing he can't take on all of the demons at once, he calls out for assistance.
Lady Gray entangles the demon between her and West, then slams bodily into it, knocking it down. She follows up on this by slashing its throat and rolling back to her feet. "You're a popular guy, West," she says as she joins him in his circle of demons.
Roy strolls by and sees the commotion. "Want my assis-tee-ance?" he asks, emphasizing the syllables.
"Go away!" Carrie growls, slashing another demon. "You're the worst shot there is! You'll just kill one of us!"
Lady Gray is quick to join the fight outside -- ideally, she'd like to keep it outside, though if the demons realize that it's mostly the less-combative who remain in the tavern, there could be trouble.
The woman in gray looks around at those emerging from the tavern. This group seems to include several fighters that surpass her in skill and experience, at least when it comes to demons. She sees Lithea take down the first demon, and is surprised and impressed -- an uncommon combination, for Lady Gray.
So instead of immediately diving into the fray herself, she focuses her magic to create tanglebriar around the more threatening of the demons.
A thought occurs to her. "Hey, Lithea! Can you point out their weak spots?" Grinning, Lady Gray readies a spell that will allow her to mark the demons with illusory glowing paint. A little target practice would do them all some good... well, except the demons.
The young girl does back flip in the air and lands perfectly balanced next to the bouncer. "Of course." She concentrates and points out each of the weak points, pointing from demon to demon. Most of the weak spots are surprisingly large and when each of the demons get paint splattered on them, they squeak and freak out.
Finally the girl looks to the head demon and her eyes narrow. "We meet again. I'm not letting you get away this time. Not after what you did to him!"
The leader just grins and laughs. "It wasn't me, mind you!"
Lithea just grits her teeth and looks for his weak point. "There!" she points to a point just under his chin. It's barely the size of a penny.
Lithea takes a deep breath and raids toward the leader. The Demon Lord raises its fist and pounds toward her. She flips through the air and jumps like an acrobat.
"I'm going to enjoy killing you!" the demon lord cackles with joy, swiping around.
Her eyes glow a brighter yellow--so bright it's nearly blinding. She keeps trying to get close but every time she does, she has to jump back to avoid getting hit by his claw.
Carrie runs out and helps West. "Let's knock 'em down!" She takes out a couple knives and sends them straight into the weak spots of the demons, which Lady Gray had marked.
(OOC: Can someone point out how many demons are left?)
A flash of light appeared from within the tavern. Within seconds the door slam open and out came Alvin with a group of highly intelligent blue apes. "Reinforcement is here!" shouted the boy, "Everyone! CHAAARGE!" Having said that, the group of apes begin to take out what appears to be a highly advance nuclear fusion laser rifle and started firing. "Uh, that works too" said Alvin
While the fight is still on and the ape is still shooting, Alvin sat behind away from the frontline and started to chant a spell. Suddenly, each and everyone of his allies felt a boost in their strength, agility, perception and their weapons glow white with holy energy. "Well, damn... that took too much energy..." huff Alvin. Standing up, Alvin create a blade and shield out of arcane magic and charged at the nearest demon. Or at least he is walking towards them.
(OOC: I'd say about half are left, including the leader, with your new apes)
"Great job, Alvin!" Carrie calls over her shoulder as she scoops up her knives. She throws them at a couple more with fierce accuracy. "Don't kill yourself doing that!"
Lithea steps back and surveys the scene for a moment. The Demon Lord towers above every one else, as most leaders do. He stays back, looking at everything much like she is doing.
About twenty are gone, she thinks. And more are getting destroyed. Soon he'll be the only one left.
She glares at the Demon Lord, remembering their last confrontation. How she would love to take him out right there, but he is as quick as she is. Still, her agility seems even higher and she can see just how slowly the leader is moving.
We can do this, she tells herself as she charges at the leader once more. Her eyes start to turn from a bright yellow to a neon orange. Her knife glows a pale violet mixed with the holy light from Alvin's spell. She jumps up and scurries around the Demon Lord, desperately looking for an opening.
Dojo Master Keith nears the Tavern, carring two sparring swords and shouts; "hey, girl, I got the swords!, but then he notices the deamons all around the tavern.
"Excuse me? is this a bad time for me to be coming in?" he asks in a concerned and confused voice, as he gets ready for the battle drawing an energy blade from his back.
He examines the area and notices the daemon lord, and exclaims "Hey, your that dude who helped that Daemon Prodigy takeover my Dojo, what are you doing here? Taking over Taverns is now Daemon Lord jobs, eh?" he taunts.
OOC: What the rules for swears on this forum?
Alvin was exhausted. Enchanting and buffing his allies took a whole lot out of him, still he was holding his own against his opponent in front of him.
"What kind of demon are you suppose to be..." muttered Alvin. He was fighting a demon with six arm, an ox head and emitting huge amount of black energy. He had dealth a considerable amount of damage and even slicing off two of the demon's arm but his arcane shield had broke and his left arm was broken. Holding his arcane blade in his right, Alvin pump even more energy into his blade and goes for a final strike.
OOC: Can someone control my opponent for me? Or must I control mine?
(OOC: I'll be your opponent if you want)
The ox-like demon charges at him and screeches a high pitched sound in order to break Alvin's concentration.
Lithea glances back and shouts, "His weak point is under his upper left arm!" She glances back at the Dojo Master. "Help us and we'll fight later!"
Keith notes the fact that every one is seemingly quite challenged by the appearance of the daemons, and feeling charitable, he rushes over towards Alvin and throws a POITION of Rejuvenation which has the ability to give extra energy and allows the user to regain his/her magical strength. He then rushes towards a Daemon of powerful quality probably one of the lieutenants, a daemon who holds two magic blades, apparently using a double two handed style, considering his four hands. Keith claps and a black sphere encircles the daemon and Keith, and a small TV screen appears on the inside showing Keith and Daemon in a large Colosseum ready to fight a one on one battle.
(OOC: I hope you read that each of the demon's weak points have been shown by Lithea and Lady Gray. Just sayin'.)
Lithea once again charges at the Demon Lord, but at the same time she knows that she won't be able to take him down until the others are destroyed. With that, she leaves him and goes to join the circle around Alvin.
"Keith," she shouts, if a little forced, "may you throw me one of those Rejuvenation Potions?"
OOC: I'm figuring we didn't have time to mark them all, before we got distracted by having to actually fight them. That way people can decide if they're fighting a demon with a glowing 'hit me here!' target or not. ;)
(OOC: Riiight. Okay. I understand.)
Lithea starts attacking, not bothering to wait for the potion. She hits the weak points of three more demons, feeling her energy being drained.
Seven left . . . and the leader.
Feeling rather refresh thanks to the rejuvenation potion, Alvin strike again at the demon's weak point, vanquishing it once and for all. Feeling rather please with himself, Alvin teleport back to the entrance of the tavern and start to cast a long ranged healing spell at Lithea.
(OOC: I'm starting to think teleportation might be a little overused.)
Kvin throws a potion over to lithea, the poition flying through the black sphere, and shouts "the next one come for a price" he then laughs.
the daemon doesn't wait and swipes his double sword at Keith expecting a one handed approach to be unable to block two blades at once, but Keith deftly block the right strike with his sword, and hammers the other sword to the side with his fist. He then attempts a fencing stab, but the daemon jumps out of the way.
OOC: sadly, Keith isn't the type to use weaknesses, and enjoys fighting using his strength only.
Lithea quickly drinks the potion and immediately feels energy enter her body. That, along with Alvin's spell, gives her a lot more strength. She slashes around like a trained assassin, destroying four more demons.
Carrie has to pull herself away from watching the girl. It is amazing how much damage she could do for such a small person. The woman throws another knife at one of the demons.
Lithea glances around. Two left and the leader. Keith is fighting one of them . . .
Feeling that the others can take care of the final two, she runs over to the Demon Lord.
"Back for more?" the leader giggles.
"Go back to hell," she growls. She takes another deep breath and her eyes change color again to a blinding yellow-orange. The weak spot of the Demon Lord glows a similar yellow-orange. Her knife shines a bright violet.
Nearly done, she thinks. This is nearly done.
Keith, having gotten his adrenaline pumping, strikes with his blade to the right side of the daemon. The daemon easily blocks the attack, using his right sided two-handed sword to block. Keith laughs and says:
"Hell, if you want to open your right side for me I won't object!" and slashes at the daemon's two hands. His blade enters the side of the daemon and cuts off the top right hand of the daemon. At the same time, the daemon attempts a strike at Keith's left side, and grazes Keith's left arm, and gets a angry response from Keith's left fist which attacks the daemon's fist, which disarms the daemon.
Keith then looks at the daemon and taunts "Don't think surrendering will help you, I have a grudge to settle with you guys!"
But, the daemon teleports away from Keith and blast a fireball spell at him!
"I didn'tt know that they could cast magic!" Keith shouts.
"Lemme deal with that!" Alvin shouted out to Keith. He then cast a negatation spell on the demon, temporary taking away its magic. Alvin then heal his left arm, arm himself with two arcane blade and proceed to join Lithea to fight against the leader.
"I want some of that action too" Alvin shout out.
(OOC: I'm gonna be controlling the leader so let's do this! XD)
"Thanks Alvin, but a Dojo Master doesn't have to worry about range in a common fight" Keith chuckles and claps his hands. All of a sudden, the area Keith was in, suddenly shrinks, and in seems that Keith has shrunk he arena so that the battle would be closer ranged to the daemon.
"Girl, just watch and see what a previously level 10 fighter can do to a daemon leitenant" says Keith as he jumps over daemon and cuts into it's body. The daemon tries to react, but when it attacked Keith smashed the blade it was holding with his fist.
"Sorry you decided to seal your fate by using magic against me, you had a better chance without introducing magic." Keith says and punches through the daemon's chest. As it falls, however, the daemon's chest regrows, and no scar is left.
The daemon then says "You thought that the lord's right hand would simply be deafeated by a simple punch, pitiful" and it grows back the arms and two new blades appear out of the daemons hands.
(OOC: Alright Alvin, let's kick this Lord's butt! ha-ha :) )
Carrie stares at the last demon, another lieutenant. This one has yet to get the paint on it, but with West by her side, she knows they could easily do trial and error. She throws a few knives, which stick into the demon, but doesn't kill him. He giggles with joy and charges onto the two.
"Move it!" Carrie shouts to West, pushing him away. The demon rushes past them and howls in enjoyment.
Meanwhile, Lithea lands next to Alvin. "This is going to take a distraction," she murmurs quietly. "We need to get him onto his back so one of us can stab that point." She points to the penny-sized glowing paint under his chin. "I'll start, and you join in when you can."
With that, the girl with her bright glowing eyes shoots into the air and nose dives toward the leader, her violet knife illuminating the Demon Lord's grinning face.
OOC: Dude, The fight should be outside the tavern
OOC: Psst, Aman, the fight's actually happening outside. Might want to edit your post. Also... good question. *wanders off to look for rules*
Suddenly, You all hear a loud roar and see nick coming out of the tavern. Looking at what remains of the demon hord Nick says "You demon lord turn back now or face the wraith of the son of Beal."
The demon lord snarls, "Et succendam visceribus offensione Filium in conspectu Patris. Dum destory anima in semper tormenta."
Nick booms, "So glad you feel that way!"
Then Nick Jumps on to the demon lord in a furry of fire claws and teeth.
Lithea jumps back, away from the fray. She lands next to Alvin and watches as Nick and the Demon Lord beat it out.
"So he joins now," she mutters. "Very well. Maybe he can help us."
Keith looks amused at the daemon's threat, and as a response starts to laugh. The daemon looks confused, and waits to see an explanation. Keith continues to laugh until the daemon collapses in front of him. Keith retracts his left hand and throws up a black object that looks like a heart.
"Heh, didn't expect you to regrow your body over your heart. Your really a arrogant one, daemon, none can mess with Keith unless they are very good at cheating." Keith says.
The black sphere Then disappears and Keith exits, over looking the daemon heart. He then says "You know, you can get some money for this on one of the worlds, but I know of a great cocktail I could make using it," he muses.
Keith looks around and notices the battle with the leader, and shouts "You know, we should make bets on whether or not the guys fighting the leader get overwhelmed."
Carrie throws another knife and with a lucky shot, the demon shrieks shrill and disappears. She glances back at Keith. "So glad you have confidence in them!"
Lithea stares at the Demon Lord. I'm going to kill you in one way or another. She charges and jumps left and right through the Lord and Nick. Going through and through the limbs, she keeps trying to get to the chin. Kill you in one way or another!!
Nick sees the little girl jumping in between them and does all he can to protect her from the Lords power. However, because of this he gets hit in the chest and gets thrown back. Nick gets up and decides he has had enough of this fight.
Nick chants, "Auctoritas patris ad me, spiritus invoco succurre igne tenebris."
Suddenly darkness fills the sky and the world becomes filled with shadows. Nick Launches himself at the demon lord his body aflame. He punches through the lords chest and grabs his heart. Pulling it from the lord Nick states, "I now take your authority and banish you back to the hell you came from." He eats the heart and the ground beneath the defeated lord opens up like a door and sends him back to the pits.
Nick then says," It is done." and falls to the ground as he changes back to human form all the wounds from his battle is kept and as he hits the ground it is clear he is heavily injured.
Lithea holds her scream as she's hanging onto the ledge by the pits. She pulls herself up and sighs quietly. I didn't kill him, but he's still dead. That's good enough.
She goes over to Nick and checks him over, her eyes still glowing. After looking at all of his extensive wounds, she calls out.
Carrie comes over to them and helps Nick up and takes him to Lady Gray. "Good work, Nick," she whispers to him.
Nick hears Carrie's words and promptly passes out due to blood loss.
Suddenly, a woman appears out of nowhere and sees all the dead daemons and the battered survivors of the attack that she knows nothing about. She walks about the attack sight, ignoring the survivors but exams the dead daemon. "Hmm...these may work...may work well indeed..."
OOC: Hope you don't mind if a join in.
OOC: Guessing this forum is endng...
The unknown woman continues to walk around the attack sight, but starts to mumble incoherent words and moving her hands about. Then, as quickly as she appears, she disappears along with all the dead demons.
OOC: hope this is ok. Never actually done this sort of thing. And I don't think your going to see her again unless you want a necromancer to come to the tavern with her army of the undead.
OOC: forum not ending, just transiting into the next thread, and it's always fun to have the army of he dead attack at any moment, just mention it to Morgan.
OOC: Hm...maybe the undead daemons are going to rebel and go back to the tavern for revenge....
"Hey, daemon slayer, can you pass me that heart? I can make a nice drink with two of them, and daemon lord hearts taste better" Keith asks as he prepares to re-enter the tavern.
He looks around, and noticing nicks wounds, he throws a poition of healing to him. He then remarks;
"Oh yeah, um, lithea and Alvin, the poition you took will soon be invalid and the sting of battle will return, the rejuvenation poitions are used as pain killers and not actual healing poitions." and Keith throws two basic healing poitions from a black sphere towards the Mage and the young girl.
"Oh, and let's relax before the duel, I need a stiff drink to calm the nerves, if I don't I will start getting tired." and he walks into the bar.
"Don't forget the heart nick, they work well with mojitos." Keith says laughing.
"MuaHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAH!" A voice echoes throughout the entire place. "Foolish Mortals, You think a Demon Lord is that easily killed!? A true demon lord holds NO WEAKNESS!"
"Brace yourself! MY FULL FORCE SHALL COME! WHEN THAT TIME COMES, ALL SHALL FALL!"
OOC: Sorry, I didn't help much, let's just take as if Alvin is buffing and healing you guys throughout the battle. I was having a high fever and couldn't use the computer.
OOC Just letting you know that My guy is the son of the second highest demonic leader and is not exactly mortal. Also with what he did to the lord it will be a LONG time before he can actually do anything.
OOC: Lol, I wanted that the demon lord you guys fought was a fake used to test out the strength of this place before they really come at us. Btw, I have an entire plot for the next event plan out so let's consider this event as over. Morgan, can we have a fresh new page until the next event happen? Btw Alvin still hasn't paid his debt -.-
OOC: He can't be a fake because my powers are only brought out by a demon lord but I can work with this and when I wake up in the tavern later I can explain what happened.
OOC: Okay works for me, btw can anyone related to the demon lord sent me your character backstory and info so I can make it fit into this plot I have? that would help alot.
OOC: I am related to a demon lord but not this demon lord should I send it in?
OOC: Please do and please pm me instead of posting here.
A hole is rent in reality, and out steps two figures. One is elegantly dressed in a brocaded waistcoat and silk cloak. Though very human-like, his cat-like ears and androgynous features mark him as belonging to some other species. An ornate sabre hangs at his side. His companion is a thin, Caucasian man with unkempt black hair and a perpetual look of terrible depression. He wears jeans and a T-shirt emblazoned with a small cartoon penguin.
"What I am saying, Mr. Luzhin, is that you ought to enjoy your condition," the cat-man is saying, before the two are brought up short by the sight of the battlefield in front of the tavern.
"I...I thought you said it would be safe, DeGavrila!" whines Luzhin. "Well, I imagine that the tavern itself is fairly safe," responds DeGavrila, with only a faint hint of wounded pride, "By definition, I believe. We are not in the tavern. And, it seems the customers have given a good accounting of themselves against...ah...whatever enemies they have fought. Which appear to have vanished. Perhaps one of these fine fellows and ladies would be so good as to enlighten us?"
(OOC, Morgan, let me know if you want me to move this to your new thread, as I'm not sure if we're still supposed to be posting here)
Lithea walks over to the two, her eyes still glowing. "Hello, good sirs." She curtsies formally. "The Demons of the Damned have, err, visited us and were so kind as to give us some . . . training. But no worries, nobody seems seriously hurt." She blinks and the glowing starts to dim. "However, if you wouldn't mind . . ." The glowing fades and she falls forward.
The unkown woman once again pops up out of nowhere and starts yelling at the survivors. "HOW DARE YOU! The daemons would have been perfect...specimens for me if it won't for you babbling fools to go and destroy their weak spots! Now where am I going to find a hord of dead daemons laying round? I can't just go and kill them myself, now can I? And just when I though I could finally achieve world dom-I mean...uh...nevermind what I was going do, but you all still ruin my chance of doing it!"
DeGavrila immediately steps forward to catch her, and lowers her carefully to the ground. He checks her pulse and breathing. Luzhin hovers uncertainly.
(OOC, let me know what Lithea's condition is, and I'll have them react accordingly).
"You!" the unknown woman rudely points to Luzhin, "You sure do look guilty enough! Are you the one that ruin my specimens, my perfect, perfect specimens! Speak up, you hesitant fool!"
OOC: Uh...instead of going through the hassle of describing her, I'll just say that there is a dark shroud that surrounds her, and so the only thing other people can see is that she is a woman of uncertain age, so she could be young or old. (though I'll probably unmask her so to speak once I decide how to do the unmasking, how she looks, and her age) Anyway, sorry about her being rude and all, I just think its funny >>
"Um....what? Who are you? What's going on?" stammers Luzhin. He takes a step back from the apparition. "You smell...wrong. DeGavrila, she smells like death. I don't mean she's dying, she smells....I don't know, like death is about her. I'm never wrong about these things. She is very, very bad news."
DeGavrila turns from checking on Lithea. "You must excuse my friend. He isn't used to interdimensional travel. I am Count Ian Corzo DeGavrila, and I am pleased to make your acquaintance. Neither myself nor my companion have any knowledge of these specimens you speak of. I must also warn you that my companion is under my protection for the duration of his journey in this plane. Should you attempt to visit any violence upon his person, I will be forced to intervene."
"Violence? HA! I let my specimens handle the dirty work when the time comes. But never mind that, I just want answers. After all, when I find the problem, I can possibly find the solution for it. All I know is that their weak spots where targeted and are now useless bodies. I can't even make them move a single finger, for heaven's sake! Let lone will I be able to reclaim my home, my beautiful, beautiful home..." the unknown woman becomes lost in thought of her long lost home.
DeGavrila seems momentarily at a loss for words. "Well....good luck with your search, then!" he finally responds. Luzhin is still looking at her like she's something he found under a rock. "You are some kind of necromancer. Please, I don't want to have anything to do with this."
"Why are you so scared of me, human? Just 'cause I control the dead doesn't mean I bite or act anything like those foul daemons, even if they do make good specimen." The unknown woman slightly turns her heads to look directly at Luzhin and then turns back to Keith to await his responce.
At her comment about biting or acting like a demon, Luzhin gives a guilty start. Other then that, he doesn't respond.
Dojo Master Keith walks out of the tavern carrying a bottle of some black liqiud and shouts in a joyful manner "Hey, what's takin' so long, I finished the daemon heart drinks and even made some for the minors..." Keith then notices the incoming guest and probably more importantly lithea falling and moves to catch the girl before she falls on the floor.
"Wow, I didn't realize you guys took such heavy casualties, dang" Keith says, before pouring some of the black liquid into lithea's mouth.
"The drink should give her some of her vitality back, but cat dude, don't tell anyone, this drink has a wee bit of alcohol in it, so this could get me into some trouble. Whatever, hopefully she'll feel better in the tavern.
Gray! Come on and help nick so we could get back and enjoy some great drinks, I'll take care of the girl.
If you will excuse me gentlemen" Keith says before carrying lithea into the tavern.
DeGavrila blinks at the aside about underage drinking. "Do your people have a taboo about children and alcohol? Where I come from it would not have been uncommon for a child her age to drink small beer or wine. In any case, you may rest assured I will not breath a word of it."
"Thank you, but as for myself, I too find the taboo pretty silly, considering that drinking when younger give a child strength to drink longer when older, or that's what my family used to say, but anyways where are you guys from?" Keith says casually, obviously meaning no insult with his words. However, as Keith is speaking he stares into the eyes of Degavrilia and seems to be in focus.
(OOC--Lithea is asking a very similar question below, so at this point I think it makes sense that she's returned and so DeGavrila is talking to both of them.)
"I am Count Ian Corzo DeGavrila, of Kor, number 230.367, I believe, by the standard system, near then end of the fourty-fifth cycle. And you?" DeGavrila meets Keith's gaze steadily, without either flinching or seeming too bold.
Luzhin breaks in with, "I'm Vassily Luzhin. From Earth. Um, one of the Earths. Early 21st century." He stops for a moment. Mumbles, "I can't believe I just said that."
West looks around at the carnage and sighs. His old friend Nick is lying in a pool of his own blood and all they have to show for it is a few demons dead. This isn't the kind of life he wanted, but West had to deal with it. He goes over to check on Nick but Nick is still unconcious.
"Don't worry about him, he's a tough bastard." He says to anyone who wants to hear as he walks out of the tavern.
Lithea blinks sleepily and struggles to sit up. She makes Keith put her down and she stretches. "Thank you, Keith, but next time water will do." She takes a seat at the bar and drinks down a glass in seconds. She then goes outside and goes to the two men. "It was Luzhin and DeGravrila, correct? Thank you. I apologize for my weakness a moment ago. It's just a side effect."
"Lithea," Keith suddenly says, "water is good and all, but take it from a master, alcohol is the only way to loosen up your joints after a fight, also tell me when your ready for our duel, I still need to see if you are strong enough to become my prodigy."
"Everyone, I think we need to discuss what happened hear considering some of us," Keith gestures towards lithea and nick and finally to himself, "have some connection to these daemons, and it's probably something we should do as soon as possible. I will leave some poitions on the table to whomever wants, the green are pain killers and the red will require 10 minutes to activate but should heal you fine." and then Keith places a bunch of canisters some green and some red on the floor.
"We need to train, we got messed up by scouts. Dang."
"Wait, do YOU know what happen to the daemons? You MUST explain me exactly what the problem is with my specimens! It's very important I know what exactly happen to them so that they can be used properly," the unknown woman asks Keith. " I'll even give you this special liquor from my home world, since you seem to like alcohol so much. Its guaranteed to make anyone drunk. Plus, its taste differs from one person to another, depending on what the drinker likes." The woman waves her hands around and out comes a bottle of this "special" liquor named "NecroLiquor."
OOC: If it turns out Keith knows about this special liquor, then he should know what world she comes from. If you want to go on about this relization, then the only thing I want to stay constant is that the world was overrun by some daemons a few years back and that it use to be populated by some Necromancers.
DeGavrila suddenly gets just the hint of an impish smile on his face. "Wait, did you say you had a liquor that could make anyone drunk? Anyone at all?" He turns a speculative eye on Luzhin. Luzhin looks absolutely, completely, horrified.
"Of course I do. Even if I'm not fond of alcohol myself, I do carry it along in order to gain some useful information and occasionally just to be sold for money or traded. Why, are you interested?" the unknown woman replies. "Of course, its not for free."
(OOC: Wait, your just going to pop in and make it so that the demons are yours? Seriously? I thought we establish that we were attack by demon lord ?)
OOC: Uh...I took the dead daemons' bodys (not the demon lord) away in order to raise them up as a dead army and take back my world, but couldn't because the weak points were targeted.
OOC: Okay then that's fine. Btw so are you going to be a regular? Someone who will frequent the tavern?
OOC: maybe, though I'll try, even if it is not this exact character. Oh, and I added a little description about the unknown woman in the "Background and Character" Section.
Giving a sigh, Alvin sat down in the middle of the battlefield, tired and fatigue was taking over. He look at his injured and equally tried allies and the newcomer and cast a last final spell before his conscious fade into blackness. A healing spell, one that restore all vitality, calm all emotions and heal all wound.
"Medens Sanat Sanare Curatio"
Carrie catches Alvin before he hits the ground and she carefully puts him down. "Take a nice long rest."
Lithea rolls her eyes at Keith. "This duel will have to wait until tomorrow. And no, alcohol is not the only way." She shakes her head in annoyance. She finally turns to the mysterious woman and gives her a curious look, but says nothing about her. Instead she says to the woman, "Who exactly would choose to be drunk? I would think it should be the other way around."
"Oh, but I've heard humans and the like do enjoy to get drunk on occasion. Why else do they keep on spending money on alcohol?" The unknown woman wonders. "You humans are so confusing. No wonder I prefer the dead over the living."
"Quite right," responds DeGavrila. "Human beings--and I use the term here in it's widest sense, encompassing all species with humanoid shapes and the human capabilities of both empathy and cruelty--do indeed enjoy a drink. The desire to loose oneself in wine, song, and whatever type of being you prefer as a partner are deep rooted in the human psyche. You might even say, it's part of what makes us human--what makes us beings with, for lack of a better term, a soul. Wouldn't you agree, Luzhin?"
DeGavrila is looking at him with an unmistakable grin now. Luzhin is looking at him with undisguised horror.
"And here the good lady was just mentioning a liquor that would make anyone drunk. Absolutely anyone at all. Tell me, miss, does this fabulous beverage overcome healing factors, regeneration, resistance to poisons, and the like?"
"Yes, indeed. What beverage made by Necromancers like myself be if it can't heal and regenerate the drinker? We do, after all, reanimated the dead. Though whether or not it can cause the drinker be resistant to poisons is unknown. You can try drinking some poison afterwards to test it, but I can't guaranteed it would the alcohol would protect you. Oh, but it must be noted that these aftereffects only last while the alcohol is still in your system." With some more hand movements, the unknown woman takes out a few bottoms of "NecroLiquor" and some small plastic cups, enough for everyone. "As I don't trust the living that much, I'll think you too don't trust me. Here is some free samples, though the effects only last for five to ten minutes." At this, the unknown woman pours some of the liquor into the plastic cups.
"Ah, my apologies, I think I was insufficiently clear. What I mean is, if one already has a condition that might, for instance, cause one to be resistant to alcohol--say, the ability to regenerate any wound and resist any poison--would your liquor overcome it? Would such a person, a man who would instantly metabolize even the strongest spirits, become drunk on your liquor like any of us mere mortals?" He takes a sip of one of the samples. "Ah. Heavenly. And you?" He passes it to Luzhin.
Luzhin recoils from it as if it were a snake. "Are you insane? Do you know what I could do?"
DeGavrila "Oh come now, this isn't enough to make an ordinary man drunk, much less you."
"Hm...I'm not sure. It has regeneration ability, so perhaps it can, I don't know, regenerate your ability to get sufficiently drunk again. Try this sample and test it. After all, it can make business quite blooming if it can get people immune to alcohol drunk." At this, the unknown woman hands DeGavrila his sample. In fact, she hands him two just to be on the safe side.
Ever alert to the possibility of trouble, Lady Gray saunters over to the newcomers. "Evening," she says casually. It isn't, by the clock... but around here, it hardly matters.
"Evening. Just doing business with this fine gentleman here. He whats to try his luck with NecroLiquor, but appears perhaps he doesn't trust me, as he has yet to claim his samples." The unknown woman replies while hers arms are becoming numb from holding the samples up for so long. "Are you afraid this Necromancer poisoned them? Just so you know, being a Necromancer doesn't make me a demon or witch or any of those foul creatures. At last, I think my species is surely misunderstood."
OOC: forgot to notice that the character wouldn't know your think trouble is brewing
"I'll just go and do business inside this building over there. A tavern I presume, and I've always thought inside a tavern is the best place to gain information," the unknown woman walks into the tavern.
No sooner are those words said then the doors of the tavern are shot open as West busts through the door and takes back his old seat at the bar.
"Not at all" DeGavrila responds, to Lithea's apology about her weakness. "There's no shame in a genuine failure of the body to keep up with the will--it is something we must all struggle with. You are clearly a young woman of great capabilities."
Lady Gray, having rushed inside following Nick's collapse, returns with a tall, thin man whom she seems to be dragging by the arm. "See?" says Lady Gray. "All dead, like I told you they were." She mutters, "And so might your patient be, by now."
The tall healer looks around, a bit wide-eyed, then crouches down and attends to Nick.
OOC: A new thread has been made, new and old character, please go there. :D
OOC: No hurry if you're actually doing things outside. Once you're ready to come into the tavern, you can switch threads then. :)
OOC: Bugger, I posted something without seeing this
No big deal... you can still edit if you want. Lady Gray's healer is going to get to you next after Nick, btw.
Nah, just leave it be since I already wrote it and are too lazy to change though I edited it a little.
Don't mind this post. Just go to the new thread.
