This site still exists, and hasn't been updated since 1996. For people who made webpages/were on the net around that time, this should be a fun nostalgia trip :)

For more early internet nostalgia, here's more: http://www.404pagefound.com/

Some all the way back to 1993.

Impressive!

Has anyone managed to get this site to do anything? It's the weirdest funny thing I've seen till date

Oooh, great find! Went for a bit of internet surfing, and this stood out to me, mainly because it essentially served as an introduction to the internet. It even explains simple aspects such as how to use hyperlinks!

This is also a pretty neat website. It has the best graphics and design I've seen so far, as well as just being fun to browse through. Most of the links to other spork websites still work, though I find it strange how the "Eating utensil of the gods" links to an outdated person search engine. The videos (such as the fooning and ramen noodles ones) still have working audio, but no footage it seems.

One thing that strikes ya, the images at the top of the netscape link would have been fullscreen back in the day

Definitely an interesting look into the past, as well as how far technology has come! I also find it cool how some links haven't experienced link rot yet, especially if the website it links to doesn't pull up a customized 404 error.

I remember seeing sites like that when I was in elementary school. I wouldn't be surprised if they still used sites in that format.

I'm gonna have to go with the Travels With Samantha website. I do like a perspective.

Long before blogging and internet diaries were popular, I remember a stumbling on a site called “The Loser Living Upstairs” back in the 90s.

It was basically this one guy just ranting about this loser living upstairs from him. He’d go on, day after day about how this loser had no friends, paced around in his apartment, did drugs, fucked hookers, and just talked to some other guy that was called “the stooge”

While mildly amusing, the main thing that stuck out in my mind was the ranter was hardly any better since he was a self proclaimed 40 year old virgin (Long before the movie) and seemingly just spent all his time bitching on the internet about the “loser” living upstairs from him. Lol.

Found here, http://losernet.tripod.com/loser.html

Apparently his popularity wasn't lost on him, and he became the equivalent of a serial author, and added a supporting cast later on.

"The Life and Times of a 41-Year-Old Virgin and The Keeper of Lost Lives probably comprise the longest running Web journal in existence. The collective works of the oversized cranium came about quite on a whim. The tortured neighbor of The Loser Living Upstairs, admittedly a bigger loser, embarked on a journey of brow-beating self-revelation with the goal of sharing as much of the excrutiating and painful experience as possible without putting everyone to sleep."
