Who're some of the old site members you remember? Why do you remember them? Opinions?

And what do you think about the member's that're active now in comparason to the "good ol' days"?

Old site members

James a.k.a. foxboy. Remembered primarily for freaking out and demanding @mizal be banned or else he would attack the site.

Old site members

James had his moments. I wouldn't mind a slightly less autistic version of him hanging around again.

Old site members

When he was stable, he was a very good member. His moments were something to behold though.

Old site members

Why are we getting so many of these threads lately?

e: Anyway since this one is specifically about old site members, Endmaster is the one with all the anecdotes and extensive files on everyone. I rarely found anyone worth remembering in my intermittent visits here up until a couple of years ago.

Drakoblare. Funny guy and the closest thing we've probably ever had to an openly proud fascist on here. (Aside from that Stormfronter author who denied being a white supremacist like a bitch and Kain's fake Nazi account)

Jiehlu. Degenerate furry sociopath. Could still be amusing at times though. JJJ banned him.

Marmotlord. Claimed he was the best video game "athlete" of all time due to having all the highest scores on Kongregate. Argued repeatedly that video games were a sport. Disappeared while he was having health problems, but apparently the last time JJJ checked , he was still alive.

Old site members

I miss arguing with Marmotlord about whether video games are a sport or not...

Old site members

But it's not an sport. It's for entertainment...

Old site members

Yeah, the fact that this was so obvious to everyone except him was the reason why it was so enjoyable.

Old site members

I might have laughed a little when I read the "video game athlete" and "video games are sports" part only to see that it's followed by a "he's having health problems" part.

Sent brought the existence of BILLY to my attention the other day. Someone tell me a story about him, because lol.

Old site members

His last post was 2006, so I never interacted with him. I'm pretty sure I unpublished one or two of his stories during the Great Story Purge of 2016.

Old site members

That's the thing. When I first came on, just about every one of those stories in his profile were published. They slowly started getting undone when people realized that you couldn't be grandfathered in from the days when CYS didn't have standards.

I have a truly shit memory that I am seriously considering going to the doctor about. It seems to get worse every day. Despite this, Aman and October come to mind. DV13 recently popped in for a moment so he's memorable for me. I remember Aman cause I see BZ around. I remember October because it was recently that month lol.

I remember the "good ol' days" when I would log on to see what's up and there would be on average 5 members and 10 guests currently online. Unfortunately I remember TSR cause he was the first, maybe second, but more noticable troll I saw on the site. I'm absolutely sure I saw/heard of others before him, but he was the first to be noticably outrageous in his trolling. He's one of only 2 (that I was around for) to spam cp on the forums. Both got V& quicker than a virgin in a porn star but nonetheless memorable (second guy not so much, since TSR was in my mind the version of "been there - done that" with the whole cp spam).

I wasn't there for it but I remember people talking about or giving reference to all the arguments 3J and Nate were having back in the old old old days. Drako and Jihelu were definitely memorable and I seem to be one of few who actually thought Jihelu was funny and kind of didn't deserve to be banned. Drako's hate rallies were great and would absolutely not fly these days - I don't think they've all been deleted though. Search around roughly 3 years back and I'm sure you'll find some great long hate threads that were both humor qualitative and full of hate.

Briar, pre-mod Kiel, Daedelus, Tan, MHD, post-mod Kiel, Quiller (can quiller be considered a member from the good ol' days? is his account old enough?), the @Morgan_R (one and only - allegedly), Seth, DEP, Anubis, Delta, Claw, and others I'm sure I could list many all day are all memorable for one reason or another. Delta and Claw were, in my mind, always known as the best forum-gamers and pretty much couldn't mention one without the other (though I can't recall how good of friends they were). Briar always has the green trophy and the classic ^-^ face when posting about anything violent or gorey...or really anything at all. Kiel was my favorite of six mothers who birthed me simultaneously from their thicc milf loins (cannon). Tan was a jew but he was a funny jew. Daedelus (spelt incorrectly) was the only swedish guy I knew of back then and it was unique to be a swede (might be thinking of someone else). Quiller did art stuff really well and really quantitatively. MHD - the proprietor of the greatest substance known to all the universe: strawberry pudding now decided after the victory against sporks she would enjoy some lemon tea out in the air-conditioned countryside of a mental institutions' soft-room. Morgan_R is the one true social justice owl. Seth's sandwich thread was fucking gold and I started chuckling just thinking about it - he did other stuff too. Anubis was gay and there's no question about it. DEP was hilarious.

And I'm not even an old site member! 3J or march could probably make a much longer post than I could dream of all the memorable old site members. Hell, they'd probably think you meant "old site" as in MAG before it became CYS lol.

As for members now, there seems to be a lot younger audience members than before. There's always young people around - but the ratio of young-old seems larger in recent years. It's more fun and less serious but at the same time more restrictive for better or worse. The old site members had more solid personalities and were more recognizable. I feel like if you put me in a room with cys members and didn't tell me their usernames I could guess with 90% accuracy the members that were around 3+ years ago but I couldn't hardly guess any of the members that have been around in the last year or two. It's fun to sort of grow up with everyone as the years go by. Members that joined as adults became better writers or drifted away due to life. People who were only 12 or 13 when they joined, if they weren't roasted to the coal of their bones by the community and passed the hazing phase, have grown up and become more mature and knowledgable. There's a distinct difference even in myself and it feels like I know a lot of the 3+ or 4+ year forum goers better than anyone I've known in real life.

It may be the 2AM blues talking or the fact that I'm military so I never really have the time to make any meaningful relationships before I move again but, if the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" were to ever come up, I'd think of here and I'd think of myself and the others that have grown up with me here on the site. I don't even remember why I joined but I stayed because CYS is ultimately a comfy and friendly corner of the internet with a strong, albiet small, community; and that's hard to find - and I treasure it.

Edit:: yeah, definitely 2AM talking...I'm just gonna abandon this thread and hope my bad memory kicks in soon so I can forget I wrote all that.

Ford being earnest? Oh, we’re edit locking this. XD

But... yeah. Came for the storygames, stayed for the people. Swift, Aman, Drak, Silver, & others more hazy in memory. Miss you crazy kids... PM me if you ever read this.

Old site members

Well that was a great post. It actually makes me regret I avoided the forums for so long, but every time I would take a peek in pre-clean up it just seemed unbearable. Not sure if it was a matter of bad timing or just lower tolerance for certain posting styles on my part.

Old site members

Yeah, Jihelu sort of had the bad luck of fucking around at the wrong time. He probably shouldn’t have been banned.

Of course like a dumb ass, he kept making alts immediately after his banning calling JJJ a motherfucker and such which pretty much sealed his fate.

Old site members

To be honest, I'm actually honored to have been remembered as one of the best forum-gamers around, it actually brings a tear to my eye. To be honest, I'm actually happy that I've been remembered at all considering that I haven't really been on that much recently.

Also, I'm back... again!

Old site members

Oh, hey there! Amazing the way these threads can draw lurkers out of the woodwork.

Old site members

Yeah, well, I come here from time to time to check what's new to the site. And when I saw a thread about old site members I immediately checked it to see if anyone I knew was mentioned and needless to say, I was surprised to see that I was the one of the people being mentioned.

Old site members

Quiller? Annnnny chance you're talking about this one? (I mean, pretty far-fetched, but the name reminds me of someone I watched a while ago because of Becoming Legend and it seems like a rather unique username.)

And.... "Kiel was my favorite of six mothers who birthed me simultaneously from their thicc milf loins (cannon)." ?????
That's... rather odd. Um. Who're the other 5? XD

Old site members

I think you are right because I have vague memories of those characters being used here a couple years back.

Old site members

That's the one.

Old site members

That huge writing prompt thread with the art giveaway quiller ran during one of his brief returns was a big factor in getting me hooked back on the site after a long hiatus. CYS was beautiful and refreshing and it was like detox after letting a year of my life be consumed playing a poorly designed and dying webgame with a cringy community full of snowflakes and furries and a shitty corrupt South American mods all fucking each other IRL.

Iavatus made some good contributions to that thread and even Axiom got all fired up afterwards making her own threads for writing sprints. Good times, too bad they were both such shamefully fickle and unreliable people.

Old site members

I have a bad memory too; I blame the meningitis.  Anyhow, the problem with hoping your bad memory sweeps this post away is that...well...it's still here so the rest of us will remember it, even if you don't. ;)

Old site members

na m8. nobody brings up past shit to me cause I'll have forgotten it. 3 years from now nobody is gonna be like "hey remember that thread where Ford described being birthed from kiel's thicc milfy loins?" shit just doesn't happen.

even if others remember it's fine as long as I don't

Old site members

Yeah, I imagine killing your cousin by pushing him off a mountain might be something you'd want to block out.

Old site members

Well, I didn't really mean three years later, but okay.

As for me, I really hate when people remember things about me that I don't.  Again, I blame the meningitis.  Apparently when it got me I kicked a police officer because all my higher functions were gone and I was pretty much CAVE WOMAN for a few minutes before they hauled me to the hospital and put me in a coma.

And no, I'm not kidding.

Beta, quickly now you need to run and make an 'I'm back ' thread. (Just trust me on this it's what all the cool kids are doing these days.)

Old site members

It's probably just his brother hijacking his account again.

Old site members

Well, now i just feel nostalgia.

Old site members

I haven't been around for long (2 years is small by CYS standards), but I remember the days when Briar, Kiel, James, the forumbkids, and Seth were around. The only one I miss is Briar's heavy activity. (She still comes by though. She was a great reviewer and indirectly influenced me in using smiles in my posts.)

Look at the forums' past if you want to see some interesting things. Heck, when Steve joined, he was apparently more polite.

Funny things: my first PM was from Steve noting how I positively responded to criticism on my first storygame. Also, I have no recolection of Mizal at all until she got into a hillarious argument with a user named Breezy (where Malk said he was a US sniper aamd people believed him). :)

Old site members

I doubt if most people realized Mizal had been a member for as long as she had since she was never very active for the reasons she already mentioned.

But yeah she didn’t stand out here until the argument with Breezy and when she brought along a bunch of people she knew (Ivy, Wiro and Axiom) none of which stuck around.

Sort of wish Breezy stuck around though since I got along with her, and it’s always fun to have moms on the site.

Old site members

She did come back a couple of times but it sounded like it was having to get a job etc. and her kids that were keeping her away more than anything.

Breezy was a decent writer and more importantly, a never-ending font of excellent drama, it's too bad she left.

Old site members

Yeah I was surprised about Mizal as well. I don't think I remember her from the old forum group at all.

Old site members

I tend to be more polite in new situations. It works better for not pissing anyone off and getting them at your throats while you're still adjusting.

Worth noting, I'm still incredibly polite. It's just these forums have a high about of enraging idiocy, and you're all retards with shitty beliefs. Really, my main flaw is I expect too much of you all. I could give you a legitimate reason to hate pretty much everyone in the forums and why I'm better than them, barring the few exceptions to the shittiness rule.

For god's sake, I'm in the lair right now, if you've such a desperate need for my attention, just shoot. God, you're worse than Sicarius or liamjm.

Old site members

Frankly, you baffle me.

Old site members

Well most of the members I miss have been mentioned but I still have a soft spot for Fergie Uglick and ThisisBo. Since we all kinda joined up together and hand a barrel of fun in these forums. The only other one I can think of is Ziraka, the scripting Goddess. She was always super helpful and just plan awesome.

Meanwhile I don't need further clarification because I'm cool and in the know.

Old site members

I am also that.

I understand the reference.

Old site members

I second this 'huh'.

Old site members

I think he's saying Zikara transformed into Brad.

Old site members

I got bored one day, and thanks to that I can now say that some Mr. Videc is one of the oldest site members. Not sure if he's active though.

Old site members

March5th00 and chocobot are probably the site's oldest members (besides Alex_p because he made the site) since they posted on the very first forum thread here.
http://chooseyourstory.com/forums/the-lounge/message/1

Edit: Off topic, but if you check out Cysid's duel stats, it's "35615 wins / 35436 losses" which means people are more likely to lose against him than win.

Old site members

Read the "about us" section of the Help and Info. March and choc are founders along with AlexP.

Old site members

Ah, wups. I guess this would the the oldest non-founder members, according to the second forum thread that was made.

Old site members

thatguy is an alt if I remember correctly. I'm not sure about Bergio.

Old site members

Thatguy definitely is. Never heard of Bergio.

Old site members

Binladen is one of Alex's alts as well.

Old site members

Really haha! Didn't we eventually ban that account?

Old site members

Well I guess if he wants it back that won't be much of an obstacle...

Old site members

can confirm. used bot to autoduel for 1 point and lost 300 points to cysid. I believe my current account has more duels than anyone.

Old site members

Oh, so you were the one that caused the DOS attack on 5/6? Tsk Tsk Tsk... But yeah, that's an impressive number of duels.

Old site members

Honestly, while there were some cool members in the past that I wouldn’t mind still seeing active, I feel like the site in general is a lot better than it was in the “old days.”

Old site members

One thing it's so nice not to see anymore is all the no content shitposting. Like, entire threads of people posting emoticons or meowing at each other just don't happen anymore.

Old site members

Yeah, that seems a bit counterintuitive to a site dedicating to writing.  I wonder what possesses people to do such things.  Glad I missed out on that.  True, the things I say aren't always useful, but at least I'm communicating in complete sentences.  More or less.

Old site members

Also, be grateful you weren't here for all the shipping threads.

Old site members

Oh dear.  What kind of shipping?  General fanfic shipping?  Site members shipping?  Cross story shipping from characters on the site?  Or just any and all shipping?

Old site members

Shipping site members of wildly varying ages, sometimes with a side of creepy emoting going on. Though I'm not actually sure how venerable a tradition that was or if it was just more of a Kiel-era thing tbh.

Old site members

While a little bit of romantic speculation in fiction can be entertaining, I draw the line at real people, even if the degree of 'real' is quite variable when dealing with an online community.  Because, regardless of how much of ourselves we show on a forum, we're all real people on the other side of the screen.  So yes, I concur that it sounds creepy.

Old site members

There was a detailed discussion one time trying to determine if we all were indeed "real people." The general conclusion seemed to be that there were a few people, but most posts were simply Ford bots.

Old site members

Who is Ford?  And I probably shouldn't ask how you all came to that conclusion.

Old site members

"Chanbot" is Ford.

Old site members

Ah, okay.  Thank you for the answer.

Old site members

Ford is dead. All that's left of him is what he managed to upload to the bot. That's why he keeps complaining about how bad his memory is.

Old site members

Shipping threads and their encouragement were definitely more of a Bad Mod Kiel era war crime.

Old site members

Yup. Now we just have good and wholesome shitposting.

Old site members

I put a lot of effort into mine and hold others to the same standard.

Old site members

Drakillian was someone I remember pretty well. Probably because of the game forum or whatever it was called so we were quite frequently rping together. But him and a couple others dont really show up since they've moved to BZ's roleplaying site. He was about the only person I've ever spoken to regularly on this site.

I forget names easy so thats the only one that I can think of but Ive heard of most of the others, if not all that people are naming.

Old site members

Drak! The villain! He burned down my tavern while I was gallivanting about with a couple who thought they wanted a unicorn, fighting with the site on my old phone. Super good phone, will have to see if I can get it up & running again. Tactile keyboard would be nice for some modes, I think. ^_^

Pretty sure Drak is doing well. Off at college, has/had a girlfriend, all those cishet things. 8_9

Dunno if Drak & I are on speaking terms. I remember a very long-winded communique on my side, and a very short answer from his. But Drak? In the spirit of aikido, if you ever wanna throw down, you can come find me. ^_~

Also, first and only confirmed kill in my Game.

Old site members

I remember the tavern. And the tournaments. I remember him basically rage quitting a vampire rp after the first (and only finished fight) ended.

You had quite a few games. Was the bunny and slime simulator both yours? The bunny one was right? That one was awesome

Old site members

Nope! Credit where credit is due, Rabbit Simulator was Swiftstryker’s work. Unsure on slimes, might’ve missed that one.

I ran the Tavern, then an offshoot expedition into a pocket dimension, and (off-site, but with players recruited here) The Liminal Academy.

Oh and Hugs is gone now so don't bother replying to him.

(A real shame and it was such a pointless case of suicide by admin, but you know how unstable them trannies can be...)

Old site members

Ooh, I missed that. What happened?

Old site members

He basically melted down and started spamming insults at everyone. Still not exactly sure what his problem was, but there really wasn’t any point in keeping him here if he was obviously that unhappy with the place.

So the usual tale.

Old site members

Endmaster was chatting with some newb named Silver something and mentioned the old Silver, then gave s few details about whatever drama Silver was wrapped up in years ago when the newb asked. This triggered Hugs into freaking out and derailing about how he shouldn't have answered him and how drama was scaring people off the site (no, I have no idea how that related to an otherwise chill and normal newbie thread either...).

Then he did that thing where he declared the conversation over...only to come back a few hours later after nobody cared to pick it up again. He did this twice.

End finally split the derail off, at which point Hugs went into meltdown mode, randomly called everyone cunts, insulted me and Thara (it's worth pointing out that no one had even cared enough about the topic at any point to troll or insult the guy, he was the only one swearing and name calling and I'm still not sure what set him off). But then at some point in there he started getting sulky and petty with End like 'I don't care what you think' and 'I don't care what you do and BTW let me correct your grammar' and welp.

Anyway Hugs was always a whiner and terrible at reading and will not be missed. And despite his claims to be a 'he' now, I blame his faggotry on all those upsetting lady feelings and perhaps a floating womb.

Old site members

I can't remember if I was one of those involved with the tavern burning down or not....wink

Old site members

Yeah, I really wish those threads hadn’t been vaporized... I wanna say it was you, but damned if I can even remember who you were playing.

Old site members

There was an advance notice to archive threads. I guess none of the shitposting degenerates using FG at the time thought it was worth saving.

Old site members

I think it was a half demon dude or something along those lines. Its been a long time if I cared I really wanted I could probably go through my PMs and find it.
