Dust off a seat and discuss a good book here...you do read, right?

Best Dystopian Work?

Lately I've found myself interested in horrible visions of the future, and I'm interested in what you all think the best is.

My vote goes to Brave New World, mainly for how ahead of it's time it is, and just how "happy" a dystopian future can be. And the orgies, can't forget about the orgies.

Oryx and Crake was one I really liked, in part because it seemed somewhat plausible. The world just generally gone to shit in believable ways, combined with plague and out of control genetic engineering. (Just noticed she turned it into a trilogy a few years later, but not sure how the latter two compare.)

The Red Rising trilogy was quite good. Highly recommended.

Looks interesting, I may look into that. Keep meaning to tackle a few books written this century at some point, it's been awhile.
