Hey everyone new guy here.

So i found this website pretty randomly looking for some stories to read and i gotta say even with its outdated looks its so far one of the greatest CYOA websites ive seen. And the old look does feel like it fits this website more than something modern. Anyways just wanted to say hey everyone and ask what the community here is like?

Hi, welcome to CYS. The comunity here is very, well, unique. I could say more, but where's the fun in that? You'll find out on your own eventually. :)
Feel free to post examples of your writing in the Creative Corner if you need feedback. If you eventually decide to write a storygame, remember that there's no timelimit, good stories take much, much more than a day. Don't be an idiot and have fun!

Unique's a bit of an understatement don't you think?

Hey, welcome to the site! Yeah, the site may be old and ugly, but it...it functions? Mostly. Sort of. Sometimes. Haha...hah....

Uh...moving on...

There are some pretty amazing stories here though that you're not going to find anything like anywhere else. Rogues in particular was just released and is fantastic, and so is everything else by Endmaster (BerkaZerka, Will11, and Steve24004709742097429370214710 are some other authors to look at, but there's a big variety here.)

Anyway there aren't a lot of rules here except for the big ones of don't shitpost and don't be a thin-skinned baby about things, and also if you're autistic like 2 out of 3 of all people using the internet these days at least attempt to rein it in a little maybe.

Some people do better just avoiding the Lounge and in that case we have the Writing Workshop and Creative Corner for more serious writery things, you can share your stuff or maybe post some feedback on somebody's else's. (Actually if you do that and particularly if you take the time to write detailed reviews of storygames everyone will love you, most of us here are desperate for attention because of not enough love in our childhoods and such.)

Reviewing is the fastest way to accumulate points and commendations too which will eventually give you the power to do anything you want to people who are beneath you.

P.S. get an avatar please so we can differentiate you from the faceless masses

laughHi! Welcome! That is almost how I found this site. Like what the others were implying, there are some weirdos, but there is also some good people hidden in the woodwork. If you would like to read/play some awesome stories/games on this site, I will use copy and paste to recommend to you what I recommend to others:

I especially recommend the works by BerkaZerka, Ogre11, and EbonVasilis. So far I have only been able to read some of each of their impressive works in the limited time I am here. I suspect all their works are awesome!

BerkaZerka’s Dead Man Walking (Zombie Survival) is extremely well written [I managed to get the best possible ending!] and kept my eyes glued to the phone I use (though it does have violence/gore and some language), he has also got great puzzles and games (Some of which I have still not completed. They’re awesome!). Ogre11’s awesome works I have read/played so far include: Spy Mission (You gotta see the different endings), Cryogenic Failure (Again, you gotta see the different endings), UFO at School, Alien Abduction, Finding the Muse (this will definitely help aspiring writers). Of EbonVasilis’s works, so far I have read his epic A Chosen Hero (I’ve got to read more of his works!). I have also played DavidG’s The Tower of Rowena, played cMitchell3’s Get out Alive, read Will11’s true story Climbing Beyond The Clouds, read MinnieKing’s inspirational message Addition, and read the short mouse hero story by pinkalily21, Alone in the Forest. There are great writers and future great writers to be found on this site.

I hope you have an awesome time here!
