As for posting pictures,
Step 1: upload your picture to Imgur.com (you don't have to subscribe or anything). Then copy the URL of the picture, the image location (it should end with .jpg or .png).
Step 2: (if you're using the plain text bar, just type this in. If you're using the Rich Text Editor, click on the 'source' button and then type this) when writing your post, type <img src="URL">
URL is where the URL of your picture should go.
As this article explains, you can also add other attributes like width or height. In fact, you could have just read one of the many online articles explaining how to upload pictures via HTML.
