Not true. If you're saying something, not for your sake, but for the sake of someone else, and even if you don't believe the words yourself, when you're saying it to comfort them, it's a good thing. It's call a white lie.

Like I already said to James - even if he's not doubting his statement, sounding unsure of himself while trying to defend someone else is never a good thing.
