Close competitor to Hatchet, which is second to Paulsen's other work : Mr. Tucket, which is also second to Paulsen's OTHER work : The Crossing.

So yes, The Crossing is my personal favorite book.

Oh? I preferred Brian's Winter. The Crossing was alright for me, but Winter's description of almost everything was on point (the food, hehe) as far as I remember.

The Little Prince, Catch-22 and most recently, The Shadows of the Wind. I looooved the melodrama. Spicy.
