Anyone read any of his books? I like them, and am mostly done the Mallorean series now. I just love the characters, and the subtle little humour he puts into his books.

Well, the two major series is called the Belgariad and the Mallorean.
In the Belgariad there's Pawn of Prophecy, Magician's Gambit, Queen of Sorcery, Enchanter's Endgame and one other I can't remember in there somewhere (also, they're likely not in order)
I don't remember many of the titles in the Mallorean.

I feel like I definitely have read one of his books. In one of them, did this thief get magically frozen for awhile and brought back and have no idea wtf was up. I particularly remember that one time he broke into someone's house and found a bunch of paper money but didn't know what it was and didn't take it?

I think the thief might have gotten frozen.... If I remember correctly. But I don't think they use paper money anywhere in the story, because they all use coins, and the only notable money that is actually discussed is the Mallorean Red gold that lures people into excessive greediness that makes people do anything for more of the red gold.
But I haven't read all of David Eddings stories, and maybe the one you're thinking of is in another of his series and isn't part of the Belgariad/Mallorean series.

You mean Zedar? I think you're right, Belgarath froze him. But nothing else JJJ said seemed right some how, so he might be thinking of something different.
But then you've read it then Sisera?

Probably confusing multiple fantasy stories that I read as a child all together.

Did you ever read Tad Williams "Memory Sorrow and Thorn" series?
Eddings gets a lot of criticism in the fantasy community for basically taking Earth cultures and fantasy-ing them up, as opposed to creating his own, but I don't think that's always a bad thing.
Personally, I hate fantasy where the author feels the need to infodump every single thing they worked out for their world.
It also allows the author to concentrate on the characters and the story, while the reader fills in background info and creates shades of nuance. I know Arthurian myth, so I can understand Mandorallen's mindset without Silk having to spend an entire chapter explaining to Garion the customs and tradition of the Mimbrels.

Exactly. Its just different enough that it feels more magical and different from our own world, but at the same time, has similarities that we can relate with and understand without the explanation.
