So, I'm doing some analysis, especially for how the adv editor can be improved, and I was astonished at how long some of these storygames are.
Here's a quick list:
Unpublished (and coming soon... I hope!):
Obviously, # Pages is certainly no indication of quality... but I did find it absolutely amazing that these storygames are that indepth. I suppose that's why I can never find my way to finish them with all their possible endings.
Keep up the good work, all.
This is the one thread where o.O wouldn't be that bad...
I love playing a long game except when there are giant walls of text for me to read that aren't broken up with paragraphs. I think what a lot of writers here tend to do when they have long games is write too much in one setting that they don't try to break up to make it easier to read and understand. Because for me, when I see all that writing I just want to skip it right out.
when i'll get time, mine will join the list too.
Even Sindriv's demo is larger than most people's entire stories...
Where are endmaster's page totals, just for reference?
EndMaster got somewhere under 150 on Necromancer. And thats one of his longest.
Necromancer shouldn't even be that long, I know because I actually combined some of the pages so it would satisfy the under 100 pages mark after March suggested I should submit it for the contest.
Off the top of my head, Alpha Wolf is around 143 and Ground Zero's around 197. Those are my two biggest stories on here. My stories aren't really all that long.
I think your story's feel long because you use the *Year 36* idea. I always thought Necromancer was your longest story.
I'm about two or three months from finished - but I will do it!
Wait. Marvel Universe is longer than Homo Perfectus 5? How did that happen?
Deleted pages might count. That's the only explanation I can think of.
Well you have been working on that one the longest. Maybe you just got carried away with all the possible choices. How close are you to being done?
I haven't been working on it at all since approximately a year ago, when I first started working on Homo Perfectus 4, and then more and more editions of the series spawned from that and I haven't worked on anything else.
I'd be interested in playing it though =)
OMS has 456
JFP has 349
I recall some guy said that there was a 2000+ page storygame (no doubt of poor quality). It was something like infinite doors or something of the like.
I think you're thinking about Hallway of Infinite Doors over at Infinite-Story.
Dead Man Walking (Zombie Survival) - now over 2000 pages long and a week or so from being published!
Damn, I hope I have time to read that monster.
Well, I imagine that a run through will actually be more like a hundred to two hundred pages - as there are so many options that I've written out. I'm actually interested to count how many pages you go through on a typical play, but haven't gotten around to it yet =)
2121 pages and playing through the shortest path to the best ending ran just under 80 pages.
You have a massive amount of choices then lol.
