Nope, spiders is a good one, but doesn't fit with the last part.

I actually don't know this one. My guesses all fit with the first or second part but not both. I want to say something like courage, fear, or tenacity, but I don't think they "roam he great wide open" or "lie in wait."

I'll go with fear.

If it was only the first part I'd guess the letter E.
