Is that Zeitgeist?
...Ah yes, and Mutherfuckers indeed. My dad gave me an account a college professor he had years ago who was an ex-prime minister. I don't remember what it was exactly (this was quite a few years ago), but I remember him saying that his professor had been approached by US gov't agents who had told him that a 'disaster' was going to occor. His professor was like, holy shit! I've got to had that place evacuated, but they explained further that it was being done on purpose. That it concerned the size of the population and a bunch of other shit to make him neither freak out or tell anyone that it was done on purpose, obviously. That a few weeks later, it came out on TV as some sort of attack in which many people died - I don't know which event specifically, but still, this thread reminded me of that.
That's some scary shit.
Wait a minute. If the "plan" is to kill 90% of the world's population to make room for a sprawling elite, they will have no workforce as robots are not yet advanced enough to take complete control of production. Explain plz?
500 million is what they want to stabilize an industrial world that works to keep the Elite happy with a constant supply of douche to refill themselves with.
Message to everyone who doesn't feel like being a slave to a bunch of greedy, scheming, evil Elite motherfuckers and would fight to the last drop of blood against said motherfuckers: BUY ONE OR MORE AK-47'S, GAS MASKS, AND OTHER LEGAL EQUIPMENT SO THAT YOU'RE READY TO EFFECTIVELY REBEL AND NOT BE ARRESTED IN THE CURRENT NATION YOU LIVE IN.
Seriously though, get an AK-47.
Okay, so take 500 million as a cross section of the entire population. This will seriously reduce the amount of industry, leaving less wealth for the people in charge. I know it would be more efficient, but seriously, if they were planning something on this scale I think they'd be the kind of greedy people who are unhappy with reduced standards of living.
Come on, lets get some discussion flowing. It's what oils the machinery of democracy.
Look, we're not making this shit up.
Its not a matter of supporting the population, its about getting consumer goods into the hands of these Elites. Less industry = less consumer goods, because most of the world's workers live on practically nothing anyway.
Another thing; if these Elites are from different nations I don't think they could all get along. Most of history has seen greedy leaders war against other greedy leaders, not come to agreements with all of them at once.
Oh, in Australia it's much harder to get your hands on firearms, have to be registered and everything, so violence definitely wouldnt work here or in any other country with gun control.
Finally, in the western countries these Elites would have to rely on being elected. And it's a long shot that the entire pool of government candidates in all these countries are made up of plotters. We have machinery in place to stop extremists from going off the hook like this, don't we? You need majority support in several places.
I'm saying that AK-47's are your friend :D and that we should be able to defend ourselves. But yeah, since you're in Aussieland...uh, get a hunting rifle maybe?
JJJ, assets are still mostly concentrated in the hands of the rich. It doesnt balance out.
Well it sure as hell don't balance out nowadays! As long as there's "rich" people, the world is never "balanced".
And yes, JJJ, I'm saying we should be ready, but not be all like, "What's up, Nazi-esque government!?"
If said government is in place it will be out again in four years, and then where will they be? Just let democracy run its course.
New drinking game: Every time JJJ mentions conspiracy (no matter what we were talking about before) take a shot.
So the whole premise of this conspiracy stuff is that you're being lied to and shouldn't trust people...and you take Alex Jones' word as fact? LOL. Excuse me for finding this hard to swallow. His name escapes me at the moment, but there was a fellow who predicted 9/11 and talked about other conspiracies. Then Alex Jones hosted a radio show warning of 9/11, and the first guy called Alex out as a fear monger and a hack. (There's video, I'll find it later) This is just before he was SHOT DOWN BY POLICE for talking too much. So I guess the government doesn't see Alex as that much of a threat?
I'm drunk now.
Anyway, WHAT IF I AM A COMMIE!? HMMMM?! Actually I'm a Direct Democratic. I like political equality (even though you need a small population for it), and my main problem with Commie-nism is that without discipline, there's no insentive to work. Werid...I though Commie-nism was different, but nobody really told me until recently. So I'm Democratic, perhaps Socialist.
Right. So essentially I'm an Educationalist. Everyone, regardless of such inferior-minded concepts as race or religion or gender, is taught from an early age in an effective way, which makes learning fun. All kids want to learn, but our education system makes it bland, boring, and most of the time more of an oppressive summer camp than a necessity to have a good and productive and intelligent life. Honestly there's no difference between a smart kid and some asshole jock or what have you other than if they were taught to value knowledge, intelligence, and question.
I could go on, but I'm lazy. I'll probably raise this point in a future thread dedicated to education.
Yeah, so specialize them in that field, so by the time they can get a job, they're UBER1337H4X0RZ to put it scientifically.
I think the twin keys are education and technology. Good education should be afforded the poor to break them out of the poverty cycles, then we need to replace most of the low-paying jobs with robots (hopefully) lowering the cost of goods, while everyone is qualified enough to go for a decent job.
There are some good points to socialism and some utterly stupid ones. Putting vital services in the hands of a non-profit organisation (ie government) is a good one, while abolishing private property merely gives control of it all to the State, which effectively makes the rulers richer than ever.
And JJJ, about inate intelligence; the brain is still developing vital stuff in the first four years, that's why they're so helpless. Things like pattern recognition and planning and speech can be influenced at an early age.
While robots are all good and fun, they're not going to be those AI ones from the movies. Sorry to crush your hopes and dreams, but it's not going to happen. At least not for your maidbot.
Anyway, like I said, there are some things I don't agree with Socialism. I prefer private property, and things like health-care should be governmental. I mean, frankly, the fact that businesses are your only way to health care is just screaming corruption and domination. It's bullshit. I'm sick of America whoring itself to companies that we as citizens can't touch!
JJJ- I know genetics influences it, but not as much as the rewiring of neurons for the early experiences
Anubis- I know humanoid robots are far away - and I think it's a stupid idea because then you'd have a thinking being on your hands (basically a slave, instead of a mere machine), but the fact is that machines can eliminate the need for humans to do repetitive tasks. I'm not talking about an all purpose servant but robot arms on an assembly line.
Now if the prices are lowered to compensate and if education becomes widespread so no-one is out of a job, we'd be a lot better off.
Oh, this has actually been taking hold ever since the industrial revolution, in a gradual process. The more advanced our technology is, the more it can do work for us instead of having poor guys locked in a labour camp doing it.
Oh, well yeah, we have robots right now that do jobs in the assembly line. It's just a matter of time until they take mundane jobs. But with all those mundane jobs taken, what will people do? Either we'll have a major problem because nobody was prepared, or we'll go to school and learn awesomely and for a relatively longer time (than now, and probably only a few more years) so that we can pursue fields of science, engineering, physics, astronomy, medicine, etc. To create the greatest Golden Age of mankind. Plus, by this time, humanity will realize that space is where humanity must go to grow and survive, so a lot of emphasis will be placed on astrophysics, astronomy, engineering space crafts and space elevators (which a much more efficient way to get off the Earth and it's actually quite plausible), and physically, mentally, and technically training a new breed of human, the Astronaut. So essentially a Golden Age on Earth will usher in a new era of space travel. Hopefully. Maybe this is very optimistic, but it's all thanks to education. Education is the key to a golden age.
Basically we'd get a huge increase in the amount of wealth being produced. It would be easy for corporations or governments to support more scientists. The one problem with this scenario is the corporations producing the wealth and then keeping it for themselves, not hiring anyone else. So in that case socialism or one of it's variants would seem the only option.
Fuck corporations. They're archaic. In fact, yeah; I think such a Golden Age would replace Corporationalism (I think I made up a word) with Socialism.
Besides how many people are born a day? Wouldn't the population just kind of keep going anyway. What's the fucking point. I'm not even sure if this shit is real anymore.
But there will be births none the less. What is the purpose exactly of decreasing the pop anyway? I still don't fully understand the whole deal. Oh, well, who gives a damn.
The word conspiracy, in our society, is normally viewed as a stupid thing to believe in.
I personally believe we've been conditioned to feel this way, and while I have seen a few obviously insane people, the fact they're there just makes the people who actually stumble on stuff look like crazy people, to be incarcerated, ignored or murdered.
Also, I don't personally want to get into this debate since I honestly haven't done much research on it (and really can't be fucked right now), but with the wealth thing, what I'm always trying to tell people who don't understand how this shit works, is that we (that is, most of the users of this forum, America, Canada, Australia) consist of the 10 percent of the world's population, that own 90 percent of it's wealth.
I don't know if you all got that, but basically, if you think of us as a guy sharing 10 slices of pizza in a group of nine people, we're the guy thats getting nine slices for himself and leaving one slice for the other nine people to share.
If you think about it, it really is something that just... yeah, wow.
Plus, the standard of living for this new workforce is highly controlled and less than what it is now.
I still think this whole plan isn't going to work.
I bet you're part of this elite, and now you're scared.
I never even knew it was about Elites to tell you the truth, I just thought they were doing it--- Fuck I didn't know what they were doing it for! I just thought they liked playing God.
JJJ, Republic equals Indirect Democracy. It's technically Democracy, but Republic is a...form of Democracy. But I understand what you mean. I'm just trying to get attention. :3
As for elites not being to exist in a Democracy, it's not about the government's structure, but the economic structure. Capitalism is a dog-ee-dog world, so an Elite is going to emerge automatically. So suck it.
I hear you, JJJ. I suppose declaring war so 1800's. America now "goes to war". lol That's the most pathetic excuse for a corrupt government to meddle in the affairs of third-world countries.
In fact, America has seriously fucked its military for a long time. In the Korean War, the US had the most failish assault rifle ever, the M14, which couldn't be fired full-auto unless you felt like killing a few clouds after your second or third shot. But more than that, our strategy blew. In 'Nam...well, where do I begin? Soldiers were given M16A1's which were inferior to the AK-47 in just about every way (and US troops were discouraged from scavenging AK-47's because of the fear that friendlies would mistake them for NVA troops), our strategy once again blew because the NVA was also helped by the Viet Cong, and our South Vietnamese allies were poorly equipped. Frankly, the US was doomed to fail in 'Nam, and never really could have won.
And then nowadays. Oh my penis, is our military horrible. First off, HK stopped its XM8 program which was super sexy, and even the HK 416, which is still a cool and effective weapon, is only used by Delta Force, even though it would be better to resupply our troops with full-auto assault rifles instead of the out-dated M16A4's. We also need a bullpup service rifle...LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Even fucking Pakistan uses the Steyr AUG. Also, troops aren't given Dragon Skin, which is the best body armor nowadays. The military doesn't use the best body armor, even though it CAN, except for personal body guards for oil moguls traveling to Oil Mecca. Oh, those assholes also get HK 416's. Now, strategy. The US still hasn't developed a better Counter-Insurgency Strategy (because that's what war boils down to in the 21st century) than it's quarter-assed one where soldiers are basically policemen in a nation we technically haven't declared war on.
Man...if I were commander in chief, I would really focus on optimizing our military. Dragon Skin, a communication network that even has HUD that displays objectives, friendlies, and targets (maybe it's farfetched, but we can at least research it), and a bullpup service rifle. Even if it's just a bullpup M16 design (with modern-day durability and effectiveness mind you), I'd be happy. Plus, it'd be awesome if a Bushmaster design was implemented, where it could accept 7.62x39mm rounds as well as 5.56x45mm NATO. That would be one step closer to creating a more effective Counter-Insurgency strategy.
