I would like to see an end to racism in America, and an end to the days when a woman whom denies a marriage proposal in Pakistan has to fear having acid thrown in her face. I would like days when news and media is meant not to intimidate and influence, but merely to inform. I would like a lot of things, but sadly we don't all get what we want.

I don't see what was wrong with that comment. Things are going on and they will affect all of us. They get closer each day. If we all are hiding in the Internet we won't see when it arrives at our front door. 

The neglection of womens' rights in Pakistan is gonna show up on our door? Also, there's a difference between "hiding in the internet" and not wanting to discuss an out of topic derogatory post :P.

I'm talking about events in general. You know that. And still.

Reasoning/Logic:

Everyone pretended like it was a joke. They didnt say 'go make a thread for that' which means they would actually talk about it. They laughed it off which usually means they want to forget. 

It's not that I was making a joke of it, I just felt that he responded to the wrong thread and assumed the thread was for every topic.

You can't walk into a Halo-festival and suggest everybody starts playing pokemon for example. It just doesn't work that way.

Free world my friend. If a moderator chooses to remove my comments then that's that, but until then it's fair game. If I feel like highlighting the major atrocities of the world in order for people to sit back for a moment to re-evaluate their priorities then I'm going to make my feelings known. This is not personal, this is not meant to be derogatory. Except for that remark against Aman. That was personal because he chose to respond to my post with sarcasm. I apologize if you feel hurt in some way as that was not the intentions of my post, but if you decide to take it personally then by all means please do.

well I have a pretty good understanding of world atrocities and events. And I should given my background, I do not need someone going completely out of context and relevancy on a thread that they didn't need to comment on to begin with. It's a matter of common sense and respect. Want to highlight what's going on in the world. make a thread for It. I'd be glad to share 5 years worth of atrocities with you.

I would like to see Vladimir Putin grant asylum to Edward Snowden but since he just dropped his request i doubt they will, which leaves it up to Venezuela. And I doubt that when they meet today in conference (Maduro, Snowden) That Maduro will grant it given the fact that Maduro said: "He did not kill anyone and did not plant a bomb," Maduro said, the Interfax news agency reported. I would like to see the US government legalize and tax marijuana (though i don't use it myself the tax revenue from legal purchases would almost take us out of debt by itself not to mention the revenue from hemp products *which would be incredible mind you*)

I would like to see the destruction of organized religion worldwide, faith is personal you want to believe go ahead let's stop fighting holy wars for fucks sake. (and i dont mean just guns and ammo i mean personal attacks as well of emotional and verbal tactics) Religion is the number one cause of war, death, destruction, ignorance, hindrance, and civil unrest throughout all of history. (this includes the muslim and christian views on women and moral guidance *especially concerning women*)

I would like to see the world focus on People, and not Things. if the whole world took one years worth of its defense budget and put it to civil use (infrastructure, food and medicine, textile productions etc.) there wouldn't be a country on this planet in debt. Inflation would drop, value and quality of life would improve, the list goes on. but to government and religion People are things, a means to an end, a tool to be bartered used and disposed of. This is the greatest atrocity of all that is happening. THIS one thing would fix every problem we have. and THIS one thing will never happen till we all start thinking of each other. There is no foreign policy, there is only domestic terrorism. END.OF.SUBJECT. we share this planet it belongs to all of us and none of us at the same time.

Odds are he just didn't read the OP and didn't know what it was originally about.

We had another thread which mentioned trolls, in which I said people are becoming too quick in accusing others of being trolls. This is a pretty good example of that.
