No Loafing Around! Escape from the Humans
unpublished
In this game, you will be playing as a loaf of bread. Humans unfairly bag your bread-theren, transporting them to terrible places. Some get sliced up into several pieces and used for these things called "sandwiches", where they get slathered and stuffed with terrifying condiments of all kinds, consumed without a chance to beg for mercy. Some are toasted to a crisp, made charred for the amusement of torment before consumption. And for those who aren't sliced are torn asunder, being fed to the local wildlife such as birds or fish.
Luckily, you have something the other loaves don't have... Hands. Feet. Arms. Legs. And a strange ability to see and hear your surroundings. Whether it's a curse or blessing for being made wrong, you can take full advantage of these new limbs to escape and free yourself from these vile vermin. Will you escape? Will you save your bread-theren? Or will you somehow ascend to a greater power?
Well, the last one might not happen. It's not like you're some magical being. You're just a loaf with a consciousness and working limbs and the ability to see without eyes and--You know what? Nevermind. Become a loaf overlord or something.

(I will respond in the same way then to respect your paragraph-by-paragraph response!)
We love paragraph to paragraph reactions! Anyway, I may join the crowd, but I'll at least have had fun during that!
I read a lot of things since I was interested in all the help articles relating to the story writing process. Color me green as that's my favorite color! And color me with impressional textures because I enjoyed the basics being laid out in such a clear manner!
Though I suppose my words mean nothing. Banned on the first post! So sad!
As mentioned in a comment, I was trying to use Infinite Story, but it was just too basic and lacked a bunch of information. But yeah, I'll probably use the Writing Workshop if I hit a road bump. Last time I hit a road bump, it felt like I flew ten feet in the air because I drove way too fast. By that, I mean I went into programming with little knowledge on how to use the language, only to be walled by an idea I had no idea how to execute. This is why you try not to run a bump since you'll crash into a wall like an egg and leave a stain!
And yeah, I just finished writing my introduction before going back to my story to play around with options, only to find that it was a simple button. I just stared in disbelief before going back to edit the first post. But hey! Now readers will be able to wack people with a wrench when I start learning how to utilize items. Or throw the wrench like a boomerang, destroying everything in its path through the fury of an enraged loaf taking revenge for their bread-theren. Depends on how much power I want to give the reader.

Thanks! May your abandon threads be a base for future stories in some way!

Right on the nose. They call it Infinite Story, but it felt like endless searching with no end in sight. I searched and searched and couldn't find any reference of making a variable on their FAQ, and I combed through each article (with Ctrl + F, mind you, but I would feel that "var" should have brought something up eventually). Though I do like how it allowed anyone to submit their own submission. I felt that would really help out with community stories where a huge group could just collaborate and expand on the chaos.
All I wanted was to make a conditional. Instead, my research led to a site that was more configurational. Glad to be on board for however long I'll be here before the next whim carries me along the wind!

My name is Zorquil, and I start way too many projects at a time! I just get an idea and start it, never finishing it or putting it on the shelf while working on other projects. I read through a bunch of the links sent in the introduction message and I felt called out from the "Embracing the Writing Process". Telling me to finish a project instead of all my 50+ WIPs in the background... I shake my head at you. I'll start a thousand more projects before I let my productivity drive!
... Anyway, I'm starting another project here and probably will forget about it when juggling a bunch of different projects! I have game projects, music projects, art projects, writing projects, video projects, reading through Warrior Ca--

Anyway, jokes aside, I'm going to (try to) do a story. A wacky comedy where you play as a loaf and escape being shipped off to be eaten. Been transferring it from another CYA site where variables weren't explained and the scope of things were very limited. I feel overwhelmed from all the scripting processes here, so I'm planning to only do basic stuff and learn how to use this site. At the moment, I'm researching how to make choices not appear if you don't have an item... or figure out how items even work in the first place. It's late at night, so I probably will need to come back to this after a good sleep. Or I'll just scour the forums until I find an answer. Still debating whether sleep health is more important than cancelling out the instinctive drive to stay up late, diving deep into the late hours past the midnight tolls with claws scraping against the bedsheets in anguish over a lack of knowledge, a lack of insight, a lack of lacking knowledge and insight (and apparently a lack of proper synonyms) until reaching that heavenly star buried behind several posts of how-do's and what-is's and feel the satisfaction of achievement at 4 AM, regretting the daybreak lights shining through the windows of my... wait, I'm not home, I'm still traveling at the time of this. So it's the soft-pressed curtains of this simple, cheap motel burning my eyeballs and the squint of my eyelids as I sit in the passenger seat of my car. Though I suppose I can just rest my eyes during the car ride and...
... What was I talking about again? Oh right, items. I should look up how to do those. Anyway, glad to meet you all!
EDIT: Figured it out literally seconds after I started playing around with buttons. Okay.
