You are the keeper of this orchard
You keep the trees healthy and growing
You've lived here for eternity
A goddess to keep nature flowing
You've done this for a thousand years
Pears, apples, cherries, and plums
Your only purpose, to serve the fruits
But it is lonely, nobody ever comes
The first day of June, you saw a little boy
Not a day older than eight
You watched him wander your orchard
He plucked an apple and there he ate
These fruits had never been touched
They were yours and yours alone
But there he stood, an apple in hand
You stepped off your twig throne
You approached the boy curiously
And asked him for his name
"Roy," he replied, and to your surprise
He suggested to play a game
Hide-and-seek, tag, and marbles
You played the whole day through
Your appearance is that of a child
Your true age, he never knew
He went home before the sun set
Then you were alone once more
But he came back one the sun rose
And you played again like before
This lasted the whole summer
You played every single day until
He said he must go to school
The last day of August he said farewell
