Player Comments on Finali Incantatum

It's a bit hard to give this game a rating since I don't speak French and it would feel unfair to penalize it for any mistakes potentially made by Google Translate. That being said, it wouldn't be right if I didn't give a rating, since I've been playing it for several days in an attempt to finish the final section and definitely have some strong opinions.

First of all, this is a very well put together game, all things considered. It's quite long, and I'm sure not everyone could finish it in one sitting, especially since I doubt most people on this site speak French and that pop-up in the corner of the screen is all sorts of frustrating (not the game's fault, of course.) The combination of the item system, good overall writing, and sense of exploration make this a very worthwhile read.

It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to find the tenth and final gem, but the many other items and features scattered throughout were able to keep me from pulling out my hair.

The puzzles were interesting, albeit fairly easy. While they're not difficult, they do make the reader stop and think for a moment, and some of them are quite clever and unique from many other puzzles in games I've seen on the site so far.

I definitely recommend others give this one a read; the Fan Fiction category could use more storygames such as this.

Very well made adventure, with a load of puzzles, that would probably be a lot of fun in its native language (French). As it is, it is a huge pain for non-speakers; and its style - no endgame links until success (yes I am guilty of this haha)- ensure that it will likely take over a decade to gain enough plays to be Rated.

If I spoke French, I'd rate it a 6 or 7. In spite of that, I won't penalize it for making me Google Translate the entire thing. Finali Incantatum: 6

It is very good. I will come back and give this story a proper review when I have the time to get through it. I am still stuck on the puzzle part right now.
