Player Comments on Star Wars: Echoes of Darkness
So, I've stumbled upon this Storygame, being the most recent addition to CYS. And, It was interesting. It was one of those types of storygames that I like. So, let's get right into everything.
Plot: 5/8
Altogether, I found the plot to be interesting, but not very compelling. It was about a Jedi going around through different planets in the Star Wars Universe. I took the route of the Sith Assassin, and It was kind of fun going around and destroying everything in my path. I have never experienced anything centered around Star Wars, except for the few times I went to Galaxy's Edge at Disney World. So that being said, it was interesting going around and learning about a few things in the Star Wars Universe. Not the best plot someone could come up with, but was good.
Characters: 5/8
The characters in the storygame were kind of dull, but were interesting. There are droids that follow you around, and they aid the protagonist in various ways and have a few backstories to share. There are a few minor characters, and I don't have much connection with them except for killing them. Again, not the best, but is very decent.
Grammar: 5/8
The grammar is just nothing special. There are Not much to talk about here. Not very engaging, but is good.
Gameplay: 6/8
i liked all the classes and variables you can develop. At the beginning of the game there is a quiz that determined your class. I also liked the 'Dark' and 'Light' variables to help you determine where you're going in the storygame. I liked all the spells you can learn, and the process of meditating to earn them. I got up to Level 10, but I figured out the spells were essentially worthless. However, it's still very interesting. The only problem I have is that there are links that are no longer usable, or just in black text. Just hide them for god's sake!
Overall, It was a very interesting storygame. Not the best, but not the worst. However, it's still worht checking out because of the gameplay. I felt like this game was similar to Alpharune in a few ways, but it's not worth talking since it's dead. I expected better Fanfiction from the author.
Final Rating: 6/8

Absolutely amazing! One suggestion though; hide the options that you can't do with the skills you have.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, thank you for all the effort you put into it. The only criticism I can even think that would improve this is rather minor and that would be the addition of a light side option in regards to the Dantoine Rakata droids and the option to actually go to and explore Telos. (Since Telos is mentioned on the Ebon hawk as being a destination for exploration yet there's no option to actually traverse there)

There was a lot of work put into this, I can tell. The different classes were pretty neat, and the powers were well written. And it was very obviously made by a Star Wars fan, with the sheer amount of references as well. It felt in-universe, if a bit cheesy with some of these coincidences.
However, I can't give it an 8 because of some issues. Some of the initial powers didn't really come into play. For example, when I played a Sith Sorcerer, I only had the opportunity to use the "force wither" ability once, and it was nearly the end of the game. So that was a bit strange. Other issue is that it just kind of felt like some aspects of the game were unused or unneccesary? Talking to companions on the ship, for example. I didn't even recruit any new ones in either of the two playthroughs I did, so it seemed a bit of a needless add.
7/8, though, I had a good read.
Minor note: several spelling errors (like "Jed" instead of "Jedi" or "moste" instead of "most"), so you definitely want to do another proofread.
