Player Comments on Search for the Jade Tiger

I liked fhat you used illustrations to give us an image of the adventure you are at, i used 'illustrations' because the rules at the start of the game doesn't matter at all, and most people can play the game properly just by reading the bland description. For a CYOA, it's bad as most the plot is driven by the author rather than direct player action- For example, the first guard that you talk to, you don't pick what you say to him, or try to bribe him, you just punch him, because the author said so. It would work if you were writing a non-CYOA text. But since this is a CYOA, a game that heavily emphasizes on player input, this is a flaw that you should improve on. Another example of this is the 'museum party' area. You can't talk to Person 2,3 or 4. Just the 'hot and smart' archeologist that just happen to know where the Jade Tiger is. As if this adventure is clearly mapped out for the player before they even begin. Something that most CYOA's tend to avoid.

Plot issues aside, there are also some grammatical and formatting errors, such as the point where you follow the researcher, the text is placed arkwardly making it hard to see, most people just hit random options from then on.

My recommendations would be to make it more open-ended, rather than just having the author do it for you, the only true CYOA aspect of the adventure is the movement, the others are already pre-determined. Improving on this will also make the adventure more intresting overall, and might earn more points this way.

I rated it a 1. Sorry but there was way too many grammar mistakes, it was not narratively rich whatsoever and the humor I didn't find funny at all.
-- LogstertheNewf on 4/21/2017 6:45:20 PM
loved it. so many options and you obviously thought of this a long time (jk you probably threw it all in there) but it's still good.
-- robert on 4/20/2017 7:17:24 PM
Not as good as Harry Potter but still fun
-- HPFreak on 4/5/2017 6:39:32 PM
Hilarious. I love the humor and the originality of your idea.
-- Skike on 4/2/2017 3:27:15 PM
Super linear, and I came to a page with nothing on it, and no links. This seemed lazy.
-- MinnieKing on 12/10/2016 7:59:04 PM
Not many choices. The whole 1's $'s #'s thing is very unnecessary just describe the room, list your options and move on. Poor spelling, bad grammar, and no character development.

Okay. I get into a maze, a thief gets crushed, we don't care, and then we get married. Well, that escalated quickly.
-- CurseOfTime on 2/25/2016 6:24:55 PM
a bit confusing
-- skugga on 2/3/2016 9:49:09 PM
Extremely confusing, I know it's a Mystery / Puzzle. But this was too hard.
-- EarthCollision on 3/4/2014 5:05:09 AM
Pretty good idea with the maze and all. Only problem is that it wasn't much of a maze. Most of the rooms you could only go in one direction.
-- Briar_Rose on 11/17/2012 12:46:45 PM
Meh, okay i guess...

Good idea, not that good of an execution. It would have been better if it had worked and been more realistic.
-- Firefly on 9/13/2011 5:46:09 PM
What was the point of the maps?
-- Haqeirah on 9/1/2011 2:41:23 AM
too confusing!!!!!!
-- Danzis on 8/29/2011 7:14:20 PM
half the links didn't work! and i didn't get the point of the game. try again?
-- fergie14233 on 11/14/2010 1:24:48 PM
I use Paint for those kinds of things. And to you, hot could mean anything, like norbit!
-- primates3 on 8/22/2007 9:52:28 PM
Most of the moving around parts were wrong.
-- October on 10/27/2006 9:56:25 AM
"you are as excited as dr. logon, definitely not more than her, though"? The maps are kinda confusing, and too many pages had only one choice.
-- Sethaniel on 10/23/2006 10:14:34 AM
This is sort of interesting, but the mapping is all wrong. I can't even choose the ways I'm supposed to go, when I do choose it shows me wrong, and there are too many dead links. Still, the room descriptions are better than your last one, which was terrible. Decent.
-- madglee on 9/8/2006 9:01:50 PM
Too short and many spelling errors. Your games are too short, man!
-- Anubis on 8/5/2006 9:11:48 PM
great game but make it longer hope they had a baby
-- jade on 7/10/2006 10:19:12 AM
i didnt care for the first attempt at it and i dont care for this one.
-- nate on 7/8/2006 1:15:47 PM
Again I really love it when the authors say there games stink.
-- on 6/23/2006 8:30:29 PM
???? Didn't get it.
-- J Dog on 1/31/2006 11:30:10 AM
hmmm... couple of bugs there and certainly lacked any choice in the end of the game. could be done a little better.
-- march5th00 on 1/12/2006 5:50:11 PM
I made this. It stinks.
-- da Ravemaster on 12/30/2005 1:00:23 PM
stupid, confusing WAY linear, and just completely pointless. The whole map thing was WAAAAAAAAAAY too confusing, and a stupid idea. I just kept clicking links without going back and I won.
-- jamestkirk on 11/25/2005 4:46:11 PM
Good Idea and good plot, but the maps over did it.
-- JJJ on 11/18/2005 9:35:42 PM
I know this game was too short, and there were links that were not supposed to be there, but the stupid computer says its broken! I'm gonna break you!! So that's why I cant fix it. At all!
