Player Comments on The Unravelling of Order
This was an odd one, I won’t lie. It’s pretty short and sweet all things considered, which while not a bad thing, I think hurts it in the long run. It’s a pretty simple story in a pretty basic format for CYOA, trying to get from point A to point B, with a generally interesting plot and ideas sprinkled in all the mediocre filler. It what it says on the tin, y’all. A pony tries to stop the world from unraveling, so if that’s not your thing-like me-you’ll probably find this story a lot less compelling.
The main character is pretty non-existent character wise, only used as a vessel for the player. I can’t fault the author too much for this, as it’s sort of a staple of the genre here, but seriously, a little bit more personality would’ve been a real help in that regard.
This is posed as a grimdark story, but I didn’t really get that angle at all in my time playing. Maybe it’s the ponies, maybe I just missed something along the way, but everything is sort of bright? I guess? It’s not matching up with what I view as grimdark either way.
Luckily, there’s few grammatical errors that I saw, which made this a lot more pleasant of a reading experience than it could’ve been otherwise. The writing style is basic, but that’s not super important in a work like this.
With that said, I don’t think this is a bad story, nor is it necessarily a great one. It does a lot of things right, and falls flat on others. I just wish there was more substance to it, is all. If you have fifteen minutes, this isn’t a bad game to scroll through, but otherwise, it’s just average, overall.

This story-game certainly gives the impression of a grand adventure and mission being undertaken by the reader. For that reason, it reminds of classic cyoa's in a way, despite me being a pony and not some village boy turned adventurer, or some rookie knight that's way over his head with the call of the mission he's received.
The Unravelling of Order is written well, and there's never a dull moment that's happening within its pages. That much I can say about it.
A pretty enjoyable read.

It is not bad, it is a very classical cyoa what is not bad, very linear with a straightforward language with interesting lore characters like the life eating trees. However, this is not grindark; it is a very moral story when it seems you have to be a goodie two shoes to win. There is no grey and there is not a sensation of dread or hopeless. Maybe is the ponies, but just for me, it does not go with the theme of the contest. Still not bad.

Better than I thought it would be. It has quite a few typos and stuff. The life eating tree peeps were cool.
I think I failed due to murdering people or something lol
