Hey M.J. here!

I like writing about fantasy and steampunk.

Current works: The Midnight Forest:

The Emerald Mirror, Clockwork City

This is a modern horror twist on Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carrol. You play as Alice, a young girl who has been called crazy by doctors, and slowly but surely grows more insane. While taking a walk, she gets swallowed into the earth and is taken to mental and corrupt land of Wonderland.

The Emerald Mirror
unpublished

Aldwyn gets a note to go a random persons funeral (Who he literally has no idea of who they are) but gets bored and explores the manor with his cousin. Little do they know the manor is full of oddities and magic.

This is the first chapter to The Midnight Forest. It's mostly just introducing the main characters, and not a lot of magic/fantasy 'till the end. I'm already working on the second one though, and it will have all that and more!

The Midnight Forest: Ch 2
unpublished

Aldwyn and his cousin stumble upon a portal mirror and a teleporting cat into the midnight forest, where they find out the people there have been expecting them for a long time.

Horror Story Variation on 8/12/2015 12:08:51 AM

I decided to take a twist on Lewis Carrol's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. It's loosely based on the book but I'm making a lot of changes and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas I could possibly use thanks!

Cults on 6/11/2015 6:44:42 PM

So I know I've kind've asked this question before, but I never really got a straight answer. I recently took down The Twilight Forest, to edit and make some changes as it came to my attention that there was some mistakes and I should combine them into one actual storygame/book. (Sorry, still working on that.)

But there is one question I have, does anyone have any idea of like a cult/faction? Keep in mind the setting is in a mythical magic realm, were some entire cities have gone insane and weird rituals happen a lot (Though this isn't a horror story) Mostly I mean like Shadowhunters, assassians or something of the sorts, but a bit more creative. I do already have some ideas but was curious if anyone had any ideas I could possibly borrow?

Thanks,

~MJ

My Appology on 6/3/2015 10:09:04 PM

So I decided to make The Twilight Forest into an actual book, rather than chapters. Sorry about that. I will look for an editor and review the story more. The chapters will be put in to one book, and if possible if someone could tell me how to combine a already published story with another already published story would be great. I will take down The Twilight chapters for now to review them and make them better. I will put this on the co author forum too, but I'm putting it here to make it public to everyone first.

So, sorry about that and I'll be fixing it.

Zombie Guide: How to Survive the Apocalypse on 5/15/2015 10:47:06 PM

There are a lot of zombie story games out there, but this is a little different. This is meant to be a funny short series, however there will be some gory scenes. As the name implies, these are tips to fight against zombies. Does anyone have anf funny tips, defenses, gadgets, and ideas? Different types of zombies would be helpful too. Also, should the main character be a boy or girl?

The Lost Writing of Soren on 5/14/2015 9:39:41 PM

Hey guys! I just finished The Midnight Forest Ch. 1, and am already working on ch. 2. All of these chapters are part of a 'book' if you will. If you want to read ch.1, click my name and go there. Anyways though, this is later on and in book 1 they need to get the lost book written by the enchanting sorcerer writer Solen. When when written in the book, the book will always answer back honestly, though sometimes the answers won't be direct or in poetic form. I got the whole thing planned already except this. Why do might the heroes need this book? What question do they need to ask it? I'm almost done with ch. 2, and from there I can finish the other chapters. I just need help on this one thing. Thanks!

The Midnight forest. on 4/26/2015 10:11:28 AM

I'll begin later in the story: These kids find a magic portal to another world. Its a mythical world, with creatures like dragons and trolls, wizards, and other things. So the kids go through the portal and meet an old wizard who says he's been expecting them. After some explaining, the wizard mentors Aldwyn (One of the kids) in sword-fightning and other stuff. They need to get this magical book that if asked a question, always writes back truthfully. So they go to Clock Work City, hire a ship and go on their quest. This were I'm stuck. Their ship gets shot down and crashes on some weird unknown land. Later they do escape, but my question is does anyone have any ideas for some mythical land? It can be weird, dark, evil, or whatever, but any ideas for a land and whats in it? Thanks!

Thanks guys this really helped!

The Midnight Forest on 4/11/2015 11:34:56 AM

So I got the main storyline set out and all, but I'm at this one part and cant connect. Any ideas would be helpful, thanks!

It's set in a fantasy like style. Theres two worlds: The mortal world (our world) and the Midnight Forest (immortal world)

The main character, Aldwyn, and his family get a letter from their cousins that their Great Uncle Embry has died. When they arrive at the manor where the funeral is, Aldwyn and his cousin, Anna, get bored and explore the house. They end up finding an Emerald Mirror and (This is where the fantasy kicks in) Jay, a cat from the trailer park speaks to them and tells them how to work the mirror. It works, and transports the children and Jay to the Midnight forest. They meet an old man, who tells them their part of a prophecy along with two others from the immortal world and they begin training. Two years later, they travel to Clockwork City, which is a major port city and hire an airship to get around. They get attacked by a monster, but safetly make it back to the ship and take off. They need to find an enchanted book that has a trapped soul, and any question you write in the book the soul writes back to you honestly, as his curse. They need the book to find out where to start their quest, and the antogonist are trying to take over the immortal world by force.

I have a lot of ideas, but does anyone have any helpful advice? Like mythical creatures or plot twist/maybe other realms the mirror takes you? I'm stuck and anything will help thanks!

Fantasy on 12/24/2014 1:00:29 PM

Hey, I'm Jay and I'm pretty new to this site, and I'm trying to make my first story.

So it's in the modern world, and a boy goes too a family funeral (in a mansion) and meets his cousin. During the funeral though, they both get bored and decide to go exploring around the mansion.

While rummaging through some stuff in the attic, they stumble into a magical mirror that acts almost like a portal through dimensions and other worlds, and when accidently tampering with it they warp to a kind of fantasy/medieval victorian aged world full of mythical creatures and steampunk cities and the land is under the threat of the rulers of Makuria (the bad guys).

Anyways, an old man finds them and tells them he's been expecting them, that they're part of a prophecy, fills them in with whats going on and in a way mentors them for what to expect, and then they meet the prince of Anostasia (The good kingdom).

Years pass, and when the old man thinks their ready he takes them to one of the major Steampunk city ports, where they get an airship and make their way to another city to get supplies.... And thats were I'm kinda stuck.

I got most of it planned out, characters and all, but after arriving in the city I'm not really sure what to do and I was wondering if I could maybe have some help?

Thanks! -Jay
