Player Comments on Kaiju Domination: Episode 1- Godzilla

Reminds me of Pokémon. xD I was actually very excited because I love the feeling of challenging opponents using minions, but it was a bit disappointing. I honestly think that this has potential.

However, let's start with the most distracting thing: Grammar and spelling. It was bad. Really bad. You seemed to be using texting language like "u" and "haft". Along with that, you missed capitalizing and punctuating sometimes. Additionally, you did not use dialogue properly. It was just detracting from the game.

The story was linear, and the leveling up (which, by the way, was weird. Five levels at once???) and training were pretty much pointless. The money, as well, was almost pointless except as a reward system. However, that reward system had little value, as I could not access the store again. For a game like this, I'd expect one would take advantage of the variable and scripting systems because they'd definitely enhance the story. You could include random rolls and damage ranges instead of attack sequence links.

The descriptions were bad or nonexistent. I don't know what their monsters look like! So what, there's pictures? The point of pictures is to enhance the story, not replace description. The protagonist is basically just floating in the middle of nowhere being challenged/challenging others. The lack of description was sad. :'(

Your characters were flat. 2D. I couldn't connect with any of them - honestly, I view them as objects and not people because of their lack of depth. The story itself served no purpose and was too short. The setting did not exist (well, it did... barely), and I'm curious on HOW you got Godzilla in the first place.

Despite the cons, this storygame has potential. I could see this storygame becoming a decent RPG with a better fighting system, expansion on story, expansion on characters, and of course, a very intense proofread. :)

The mechanics of it where static, which is bad for fighting stories more so than others. The plot was hair thin. Static fighting is only okay if the telling of the story is more important than the fight itself. You have no story whatsoever so I have to compare this to a poorly executed fighting style game. Give the readers to want to be the best, and reward them properly when they do. I felt no drive to better myself, or a plot to carry me along. I gave you points for effort though.

It was satisfiing to see everyone die but if you could continue it would be better.

This was pretty cool, I really like godzilla and pokemon (I know that's what this is based off of)

that was amazing

Not bad. Pokemon on steroids. Every victory brings you up five extra levels, with preset new attacks that you have no control over whatsoever. What's the point of introducing new special moves to the player if you only let them "attack" or "power up"?

There was a lack of freedom, although I understand that it would be rather complicated if you tried to add in too many choices at once, especially for this kind of game. The game ends after about 5 battles and there's no real story.

Not only that, but there's NO penalty for losing. Aside from the last battle, if you lose a fight then the game lets you go back and try again as many times as you want. It's just like nothing happened.

I wouldn't mind seeing more length and depth in this story. I can finish a battle with a single click and everything is already done for me.

So, it's Pokèmon with monsters?

Lol, this wasn't so good actually.

That was pretty good. I WON! but more background needed.

Not very original. This is a spinoff of Pokemon, and it might as well be in the fanfiction section.

There were many spelling errors. There also seemed to be little plot to the story-mostly just a bunch of battles. Add more description next time, be attentive towards your spelling and grammar, and maybe add a little more description, story, and choices? A good start, though. =)

Totally random; I became the king of monsters!

It was decent, not good, but not bad. The grammar was pretty bad though. A small tip man, if you want to make a story, by all means, go for it, but make sure to proof read your work.

After having not played this for awhile, I gave it another go. Still pretty good, it has it's flaws, but it's fun. If you are every on the site again and make an episode 2, I suggest using the advance editor to do the stats and attack damages with. Because, thanks to the easy to use random generator option (#d#) attacks damage would be different each time the game is played, thus adding some replay value.

-- Adzilla on 12/2/2008 7:12:30 PM with a score of 0
Never mind, I guess it DOES have some replayability. I just went through again and discovered that you could get different challanges by losing. It still needs more plot, though.

A fun game, but needs more replayability.
-- Rodney on 6/15/2008 10:06:18 PM with a score of 0
yeah, SIMILAR to Pokemon... I recognizd Nidoking, Aerodactyl, and at the end Godzilla was Feraligator. Still I liked the whole concept.
-- Expander on 1/12/2008 10:02:42 AM with a score of 0
Excellent Idea. I Really Liked The Pictures, Gve Me A Good Idea Of What Was Going On.
-- Expander on 1/12/2008 9:58:23 AM with a score of 0
Great concept, similar to pokemon. instead of picking strategy, maybe you could pick moves every turn? have some items, cities to explore and more description and i'll give you an 8. so far 6/8
-- Rommel on 3/13/2007 1:33:19 AM with a score of 0
Great idea! I loved levelling up! The whole choice-of-strategy was a bit random, though. With an even more strategic element and, as everyone says, variables, etc., this could be one of the greatest games on the site!
-- Sir_Lancegalawain on 1/10/2007 6:26:10 PM with a score of 0
Great game, I love the leveling up thing. What an awesome idea.. I think I'll make a game like this, you know, battling and leveling up. With completely different characters and storyline. This game'd be even better if you used variables in it.
-- October on 11/10/2006 1:08:19 AM with a score of 0
Like everyone else says- this would be cool with advanced options.
-- Sethaniel on 10/30/2006 11:10:12 AM with a score of 0
This was really fun. I won every battle without going back! Never knew those monsters were called Kaiju. Good writing, fun to read, nice battles. If you added some variables to actually calculate combat, would be an excellent story.
-- madglee on 9/5/2006 3:27:22 PM with a score of 0
this could so rock with more advanced options.

had you taken advantage of the advanced game features this game would have been awesome. As is it doesn't really work, though I won't say it's not worth playing.
-- march5th00 on 2/13/2005 6:57:04 PM with a score of 0
it was good, it would have been better if there were more choices in the game, i had a good time though, i will play anyother games you make.
