Overall, it's a quick and easy storygame with a relatively constricted plot and clean writing.
I feel that the writing is quite polished and (for lack of a better word) 'lively'. Couple of the endings were nicely written and cleanly concluded. It shows a good deal of potential in future storygames, perhaps longer and more expansive.
The story itself is quick and clean. I liked the linking of the pages to a couple of clear cut endings despite a different path, though there are a few ending branches that felt slightly redundant(ex. couple of almost empty pages of you searching through the house). It's nothing majorly concerning, those pages could always be fleshed out with more significant choices if you ever decide to return to this.
With that out of the way, the main complaint I have with this story is the relatively limited plot and missing aspects of 'horror'. I understand that it may be difficult to expand on the closet monster itself, though. The horror aspects were a bit lacking, I felt that the monster's influence over the narrator's childhood and their current household could be described in a bit more detail (may I suggest fleshing out your anticipation and emotions when confronting the closet and monster?).
That and the spouse thing which has been mentioned enough, constantly referring them as "your spouse" gets kind of stiff after a few pages. Give them a genderneutral name if you're that concerned with it.
Anyhow, it's a nice light reading, I definitely see potential for even better works later on.

I wanted to review this a week ago when I originally played it but I lacked the time, so full disclaimer that I am giving a review based on possibly faulty memories.
For starters, despite being in the "horror" category this game is not really scary. That said I'm not sure where else I'd put it. The game needed to have a lot more dread and tense situations to be a "horror" game.
What it did have plenty of, however, was humor. I found myself incredibly entertained with both the death descriptions (of you AND the creature) and the story in general. The endings are nicely varied and hilarious, which contributed heavily to me increasing the rating. I love humor.
The choices at first seem to be plentiful, but I realized quickly a lot of them loop back to similar paths (sometimes in a way I thought was pretty nonsensical). It's still got plenty of varied choices though, just not as much as it seems at first, and I read every page.
One thing I hated, and that mizal already mentioned, was the stupid "spouse" thing and constantly dodging around assigning gender. Big minus for that, that faggotry should remain on CoG or whoever jerks off to their fantasy waifus.
Overall, no regrets about reading through, and I recommend this game to people looking for a quick and short story. 5/8.

Nice little exploration of the classic monster in the closet trope. Some of the choices just fold back into a main path, but there's still plenty of varied endings. Could've used a bit more polish, there's a handful of typos and mix ups with words like lose/loose and peek/peak, but not enough to really distract. The thing I actually did find distracting was the constant use of "spouse" to avoid assigning gender. It's fine and even the norm here to have established characters just like in a normal book, and the extra effort spent carefully wording sentences around that could've been used in other parts of the story.
It might be the creature is too easily dealt with in most of the endings to capture that more intense horror feeling, but it was entertaining just the same and I hope to see more from this offer.
I loved the line, "Your spine seems to decompress." instead of just a generic "you feel yourself relax" or whatever. And there managed to be a few genuinely funny bits in here, like the option to befriend the monster or the ending where you're passively aggressively leaving newspapers with death reports lying around.

The game was fun! I expected it to be a bit scarier, but the story was perfect nonetheless!

Some of the endings were a bit quick and questionable like the one ending where your spouse come in and just knows what to do without saying a word no questioning. But other than some of the endings its an alright story.

I liked it. I was expecting something more...scary or action packed I guess? The writing was decent with only a couple of mistakes I saw.
