I read over what to do, but I still have no idea what variables actually do or how to work them. I'd love to use them, though. I feel like they're there for a reason. Thank you for  anyone who has read this and wants to help.

I recommend you start by re-reading the variables articles more carefully. Try starting with the easier one and then try to grasp a basic understanding of them, then try the more complicated stuff. You can also find helpful information in the Advanced Editor forum.

Threads like this should go in the Advanced Editor forum, but, it would be easier to help you if you'd explain exactly what is it you're trying to do with your game. Variables themselves are simply the way the game stores and tracks information about player choices.

I wanted to get the choices to add up to a certain ending depending on what the player chose.  I believe I found a guid to help with that, though.
