I would have given it an eight if not for the long fight on the mountain and it not being so difficult because I was just guessing on what to do at times. On the other hand, it had a nice use of items, amazing amount of options, and great spelling. It had action, mystery, puzzle solving, and just felt like a cool game.

Hmm, you use of the editor is amazing, but the constant mazes are really annoying (try to at least add a little variety, instead of making every room and every passage way the same) and the gun fights definatly need work (why are head shots so useless? Shouldn't their be more tactical options?). A little description would help a lot.
Also the final fight was just stupid, I must have killed like 20 guys before running out of bullets, then helath, and then by trying to use my armour I ended up travelling back in time to an earlier part of the game. You could have just shortened the fight, instead of making an epic battle.
Otherwise a pretty good game

This is an incredible game with a fun storyline that I found reminicent of many of the classic Adventure Games. Aside from a way-too-long final battle, the gameplay was very impressive. The author really took the system to the limit, including a driving-around chapter (with map and a YOU ARE HERE dot) and a Casino. I highly recommend taking the time to play this.

What a great concept. Lots of adventure and detail.
It was somewhat tedious in the Vatican search, but that's how searches are I suppose.
My main grouch is with the (final?) shoot-out in the cave. I have no idea how many hits I scored on the enemy but they kept coming. I must have been there for an hour ( game time ) and took about 12 bullets and lived.
I gave up in the end because it felt I was stuck in a time loop or something. I don't even know how many men there were left fighting me. But at least I had a bottomless bottle of Tylenol! And I kept finding one more bullet in my pocket. Kind of magic.
Thanks for the story though! It was fun.

It's all fun and games until you're forced to Get off the Plane.

The final battle felt endless and I eventually died while playing it, but otherwise the game was really fun.

I like the plethora of options at each stage of the story and that time is a variable for progressing.

"Normal Ending
You pull apart the ends of the Cryptode, revealing the treasure inside. You have been thinking long and hard, spending sleepless, restless nights about what may be within the Cryptode.

As you pull apart the Cryptode, something shiny drops to the ground. You pick it up and open your hand. There lies the biggest, heaviest diamond you have ever seen!

After about an hour of just staring and examing the diamond, you decide to take a small rest before making your descent. You wake up the next day refreshed and ready. You gather your things, making sure the diamond is in one of pockets. You step out of the cave and feel the familiar gust of wind.

Getting back down felt faster than getting up, you think as you enter the airport in Tibet the next day. Two hours later, you are on the airplane heading home.

You step out of the airport gates and enter the main rooms. You are instantly greeted by reporters, tv cameras, relic hunters, and just normal, everyday citizens. They ask you questions relating to your adventure and the Cryptode. After a month of fame and celebrating, you find yourself in your home. Just yesterday you were declared the richest man alive. You didn't even have to sell the diamond! About 10 relic hunters paid you for the Cryptode itself and it totalled over 900 billion dollars!"

Ah, nice. I wonder how i can get to the lucky ending by guessing it right. 8/8

I think there was a bug at the gun fight at the cave, no matter how many man i hit, the gun fight just will not end until i die!

So... I'm stuck on the battle where you just got the Cryptode. Ahm... is it me, or was 41 bullets of pistol ammo didn't seem like it was enough?

I finally got the best ending! It took frickin' forever, but I did it!

By the way, the thermal blanket doesn't seem to work anywhere.

Extremely fun, time flied past me.

It was a very fun game.

This game, although not perfect, was pretty good. The idea of the grid in Venice and the map was quite creative. However, it got to be a bit tedious at times- not hard, just frustrating, what with having to scrounge the options for 20 minutes looking for one thing. However, it was still interesting ^^

If you can get through the 100 guys you need to kill at the end, it's totally worth it. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you don't actually "kill" them with each hit, but that they have life in a similar way you do (even though it says they go down), and that headshots actually do more damage on them. Once I started doing headshots it went far quicker. Anyway, the labyrinths weren't that bad. You just need to remember which you've already had. What's interesting is how many items I apparently missed. I have no idea where I'd have had to get them either. Nicely done.

Flawless... This game was amazing in every aspect, and I'd like to see more please.

Great game, one of the best on the site. I first played it a couple years ago and ran out of patience while navigating the Vatican, so I asked the man for help. This time I resolved to beat it and get the best ending, and spent loads of time wandering around the crypts. I ran out of time while trying to ascend Everest, but will try again now that I know what to do in the crypts.

Why is there such a labyrinth in the Vatican :(

Cryptode, AKA the hardest fucking game on CYS for 10 years is a masterpiece. And dat other hoax... Dat hoax.

A bit repetitive and very hard to figure out how to beat, but I guess that's what makes a great game! 8/8

Stupid cave battle with like 1000 men where the battle took proberly a year and then I get shot to death, so bad and a waste of time!!!

Amazing story.

Honestly? A nice attempt. I hate to be a wet blanket, but this was extremely confusing. Good storyline, interesting plot... But its too confusing.

Loved the puzzles, fun to play a story that doesn't end in a minute just by choosing the right options. Although i will agree that last fight was WAY too long, had to reload one by one in the end.

Nice Story, Still I'll only give you 7/8 until I knew what's the Special Ending is, why I have to PM you for getting it anyway? The normal ending already good so I can't guess it!

Wow, this was super fun, and I didn't even win. I'll play through again and hopefully find the treasure. I loved the fights and the writing was terrific. I wish I could give you a 9!

Pretty good game. Humorous, and you used the editor well. However, there were a lot of dead ends because at the Vatican many of the options were in places that were "too dark". Also, in the fight sequence there, it gets a bit monotonous, and there are A LOT of ways to lose the game. Wish there was a way to conveniently leave the Vatican without going backwards in the story. Hard to keep track of health, money, luck, and all that when you hardly ever get to see what they are at. Needs some work, but still a really fun game. =)

I enjoyed it alot, I almost got fustrated in the crypts, but once I realised what I was doing wrong it went quickly and enjoyably, I got the special ending this time so may play through again to see what the other endings are like. I gave it a 7 but think I should mention (whilst trying not to put any spoilers in)the sheer length of the final section made me think it was glitched and I almost quit out thinking I was in an endless bad-guy loop, I must have been one or two clicks away from hitting the quit button before it let me end.

Time system is irrelevant if you do not know exactly how much time you have.

Probably my favourite game on the site so far! My only criticisms are the boring end fight sequence and the fact that there is no health loss difference for shooting an enemy in the head as opposed to shooting them in the body. Minor quibbles though, so 8/8.

I was going to give this an 8/8 because it was so well-written and fun to play. However, a major glitch forces me to give it a 1/8, because this game is just plain broken. I was in combat with the six guys after finding the Cryptode. I shot and killed what seemed like six hundred of them in a really boring and repetitious combat sequence before my health was finally reduced to zero. I had body armor, so I used the "wait; I have body armor that reduces damage!" option. And it transported me back to the very first gun-fight against the Group way back in Rome! This game has serious glitches to be worked out.

I really, really liked this story. one problem, I ran into the infinite fight loop at the end. D: Totally ruins the story, especially after you took so long to get where you are. I wanted to know the ending, but I guess I never shall. ;_; 7/8 Fix the danged bug! People like to finish their games!

I had to do the cave fight, and suddenly, the whole thing restarted to the fight in Vatican City! Thus, I just continued and I purposely got hit by the avalanche.

Great game...until the shooting loop.

Good: The story was fun and I loved the movie-like feel of it all! Driving the SUV was fun!

Bad: Items were cool, but some item images were just a bag. Why? There were some grammar and spelling issues too.

Ugly: Why does a game with such potential have to end in frustration? (I had 38 bullets and 23 health, I even cheated and everytime I was "hit" I went back till I wasn't. Over and over and over again I ran out of bullets, finding a few in the cave. Over and over and over again. I must've killed 100 men....Nothing.)

I hope someday this will be fixed. I am sure others feel the same way too. - We wish we could have seen the ending...:(

It was a fun game....

Until I got stuck in a loop that never ended. I killed like 20ish men. Worst of all, it never even told me my health, amount of bullets I had left, or more importantly, how many bad guys were left.

It started off fun, but all the passageways in the Vatican really weighed it down and made it become frustrating. Cool work with the variables though!

Brilliant except for a massive bug which put me into a infinity loop when I got the crytode. I just had to pick head or body shot and I must have killed 30 men the game wouldn't continue. I would have rated this very high but I had like 27 health and I died due to a bug. Such a shame

That was awesome, but I ran out of time.

I ran into a couple of bugs; even if you bought the silencer while taking the taxi to the Vatican, you didn't get the option to use it. I was only able to use it when I'd bought it while taking a rental car. It's also difficult to accurately chart time and the number of bullets, and it took 24 bullets to kill the six guys at the end. Still, considering when this was created, it's a really good game!

1: the final battle is impossible, it goes in an infinite loop

2: you have no idea of your stats

3: the labyrinthine bits are just irritating

4: Snow can actually save you life (if you can breathe.)

Lost on purpose to leave comment. Love this game, it's very good. My problem is at the top of Everest fighting the six men, I just shoot and hit them over and over and over and it's an endless loop. I even quit and started again and the same thing happened. I must have killed like 20 guys. Not sure what the problem is. Great job, though, I was having a great time until then.

if you are a fast reader then just ignore all the warnings about time running out!!! try to explore every single possible area available to you. That is the only way, I presume to find all of the items and other components necessary to make your adventure a successful one.

I love this game. It has become one of my favorites. But you know, you can cheat from the casino and get a lot of money. But still, it is a good game. Thx for making it!

This game is kind of buggy. For example there are like a billion guys to kill in the battle after you get the "Cryptode" and if you die there it asks if you have armor and if you do you reapear at the first fight before any mountains at all. Also, Armor isn't taken into effect at the final battle.

Splendificous! Very good game. My only objections are the uniform parts. It felt so mechanical, (not to mention the fight scenes sucked.) However on the whole it was a good game. I didn't beat it (Got stuck in a battle and wen't back to die), I thought you did a good job. You achieved a 7/8 on the Assasin scale and have advanced to the round Robins.

Surprisingly excellent.... but the whole labyrinth thing got to repetitive. Very challenging.

Hmmm, got lazy toward the end with pictures, and that last gun fight seemed a little long (i thought you said there were only 6 guys!) and the ending a bit abrupt. The story itself was fantastic, and the use of all available advanced editor features was phenomenal... best yet. Congrats, a truly solid story and a pleasure to play.

if this is scored, then mines sposed to b higher, but it wouldnt let me leave comments so i played again and killed myself so i could leave comments. i got to the mountain camp 3 and got the cryptode but the fight is an endless loop and i ended up dieing, after killing at least 30 people.

it was a good game
