So I know that Storygames will be deleted if they are very bad. How worried should I be about this? I am curious because I don't want to put my time and effort into something to have it deleted.

If you put time and effort in, they shouldn't be "very bad". The last story you released won't be deleted. If you can produce at that quality or better (hopefully better though, it wasn't great) then you've got nothing to worry about.
