A story I really hope I will be able to finish by the 29th! I don't expect to win, but this is by far the best reason I had to write in a while! When I don't stick to a dead line I tend to just stop...

Will be updating this with progress and more information. For now just a description I decided to pump out. ;D

P.S. I won't publish it if I run out of time, really want my first story to be good. Seen far too many "demos" and the reactions they got. Want to avoid that! xD

I find this post pleasing. 

Looking forward to the finished product. 

Rhymes tend to do that.

Lots of rhyming so I'm hoping for... riddles instead of puzzles? Because there are lot more of the latter being entered for this contest, I think. Not that it matters too much either way.

Puzzles in getting around, following a secret path (or two) and fighting.

Riddles for a major path branch (or two). Maybe an ending one as well.

The internet makes rhyming so much easier. ;D

Brief summary of what you do in the story:
- Try escaping a prison/castle.
- Try to Survive.
- Explore.

CHAPTER 1:
- Why you are in prison.
- 5 'routes'/endings. Lead into CHAPTER 2.

CURRENTLY:
- Adding beef to CHAPTER 1. (ie 1/11 pages).
- THEN proceeding onto one route for CHAPTER 2. And so on.

Got to try and keep this short!

Thanks a heap! So far I think I will be able to finish it, which is great.

It's a simple concept, but I think you're on the right track to executing it very well. I think the range of paths you have in mind can only be an advantage.

The paths will be helpful since I can focus on different elements of the world. Also different plot twists, seeing as I already thought of one. :D

As for the concept, what I forgot to mention, companions will be a central way for finding out more about the world.
The companion system will be smaller then the one I hope to use in my main game, but I will still be trying to keep the companions themselves fully flushed out.

In fact, I plan on using a few as nods towards my other game, even if it isn't out yet! World building for days!

Standing up from the corner you were slouched in you take a good look around.


In one corner, under a small barred window, a tattered piece cloth serves as a bed. Really sleeping on it is no different to just sleeping on the stone floor.

You might actually be able to squeeze through the window, if it wasn't barred. The iron bars themselves don't look breakable. However they are a bit rusted. The stone around them looks a little weird. Some wind is blowing through, it causes some stone dust to fly into your cell.

Opposite to the window is a iron barred door. So creative. It's lock looks rather sturdy, but simple. The door's bars are in much better condition then the windows. Maybe it's not locked?

Got to say, re-reading and editing is sooooooo annoying xD
Not to mention when you use %%VARBIABLE%=%#%text%% and your page looks all weird! Writing out the paragraph code things doesn't help either!

But it looks nice, so I am happy.
However I am doubting if I will be able to finish it, all this re-reading takes ages, and having someone else re-read it will just take longer.

I won't give up yet thought!
