Let me start by saying that I was a total nerd as a child (let's be honest, as an adult too).
So I wrote 'choose your own adventure' books (along with lots of other things).
I recently dug this out, I probably wrote it somewhere around 1981, which would have made me 11-12 depending on when I actually set pencil to paper (I can remember that it took a while - but even that - who knows what 'awhile' was back then?!?).
My plan was to NOT CHANGE A THING. But I just couldn't do it. So I corrected the spelling (but I included scans of the original pages if anyone wants to read and see exactly how much of a dummy I was... or am! My faves are when I spelled 'bottle' three different ways on a single page and another place where I actually wrote 'tooken'!)
Let me also state for the record that this is possibly one of the worst titles any book could ever have. Ha ;-D
And not to worry, I write much more gooder now.

This was my 2nd of three CYOA books I wrote as a kid. The first - 'The Mystery of the Mysterious Time Machine' is on this site already. When I recently found this old book it had the title page 'A Dangerous Mission'. But I for sure remember that wasn't the original title. It was something like 'The Mystery of the Missing Microdot' or maybe 'Find the Missing Microdot'. The idea of the microdot itself I totally remember where it came from. Along with being a big Dungeons & Dragons fan I also played many of TSRs other games. 'Top Secret' being a fave (and let's not forget 'Boot Hill' and 'Gamma World'!). Anyway, 'the microdot as I way for spies to transport information must have popped up in the 'Top Secret' game and I ran with it. This was probably written around 1982 I'm guessing. Whereas I kept my first book exactly as I wrote it thought I might update this one a little as i go. But all of the choices will be the same.

After I published I found a dead link. I'd like to fix it but as far as I can see - if i unpublish, then fix and then republish I'll lose the comments readers have posted?
Any way around this???
thanks!
