The Blackwood Chronicles: Heist

I'm a stickler for immersiveness in a storygame, so I found this hard to dig because of certain things that were entirely unrealistic (eg. the police not arriving at the bank for over an hour, Shades entrusting the most important part of his plan to a "mindless" henchman etc.). You also switched into past tense a few times during the story (nothing huge, just the odd sentence here and there).

I particularly liked your present-tense style of writing and the Home Alone-style plans enacted by Bryce. I wasn't bored by this storygame but its lack of realism stifled my enjoyment.

I loved this story! I was a bit confused, since I hadn't read the other Blackwood Chronicles book. I was a bit annoyed that you kept saying "BANG!" on virtually every page, just wouldn't have done that, and you would have a 7/8 story!

i love the hero. that is all that a hero needs is just to be home.

Great job. I just now got to leaving a comment. Sadly, this isn't what I'd like to call your best work, but trust me, it's still pretty darn good. I like the Cat-and-Mouse gameplay, and it kept me on my toes (not literally; that'd be too much work) and ready to run. The creative use of items made the story a lot more interesting. The downside was what kept it from being perfect. Yes, we had a bit of dialogue in the story, but I think Bryce didn't get to say anything at all. That leaves us wondering; Who is Bryce? Ed and Shades at least seem to have something interesting going on. Why can't we help them? I think that giving us more insight and dialogue (comedic or not) with the characters would be a huge bump up. Good work, as always.
