Player Comments on The Forest Manager II
Well this was certainly as informative as the first game in the series, and the slight change in all of the questions that were being asked made this feel like a proper sequel in a way. The writing in this game remains cohesive, and the questions being asked made me really have to think as to what the correct solution would have to be in the scenarios presented. There is some semblance of narrative with the progression of the story, but this still was very much like a quiz in which the wrong and correct answer were given and had to be chosen accordingly.
This story-game still does feel like it's more suited for those that are already knowledgeable about the subjects in this, because there's not much in terms of explanation for the reader on the things that they might be unaware of. It seems like only a correct answer or guess in some cases is what tells them that they were correct, and I assume that someone would be able to learn from that fact, right? The information in this story-game like the first is definitely interesting, but from the standpoint of something that is supposed to be a sequel, I expected the information to be relayed a bit better in ways.
I was unaware that I had a desire to learn about the subject of forestry before I experienced the games in this series, so despite the somewhat lack of clarification in some parts this did succeed in providing me an interest in learning more about the things from this story-game myself.
Despite some of the things that I may have found myself not really being a big fan of, I do believe that this is something that has value for the Edutainment genre on this site. I think that also applies to the site as a whole, as the information here was provided well enough in my opinion. I really found myself enjoying this story-game while reading through it, and it certainly left a pleasant enough feeling once I read through the last page of this writing.
A pretty good job overall, Graham. :)

Well, I once again guessed every infection, but had no clue what the cures were. Cool.

No choice whatsoever. Should not be a CYOA. Though it somewhat educational though, so a 2/8 from me.

Decent writing ability, the game clearly states upfront it's meant for people who already know about forestry.
It isn't a study guide, though, it's more like a practice exam.
For a game to be "educational" it should provide you with information and explanations- not just ask you the question and tell you if you're right or wrong.

Pretty good. I learned something at least. It would be great if you had separated your chunks of texts with paragraphs.
5/8

It works well, from what I could understand (mostly random guesses for me), but for a serious game, the fail pages were slightly random at times.
