New ambitious fantasy epic, need ideas

So I have the basics of a story down due to originally using this story as a D&D campaign that I never got to do. But I'm gonna try to be a little ambitious about this seeing as how this will most likely be my first project too. I plan on letting you choose one of three adventurers who go on this massive quest to save the world and have at least 2 story branches that branch out to 2 more that branch out to 2 more. So basically 8 true endings for each character. Their stories will be intertwined and of course if you choose one character, the other characters will have a default path that they follow. I've only played a few stories on this site so far and I've noticed that for the most part the epics don't have too many branches that follow all the way through

Story takes place in a world quite similar to the Dragon Age world, except imagine that there's these little creatures that look like the Heartless from Kingdom Hearts. The plot will be that a powerful witch lost her godhood when she didn't have enough worshippers (that'll be a thing in my world). Less worshippers means less power that you may contain. So to work her way up back to godhood she decides to use the most pathetic creatures known as shadowspawn and take over the country with them. So it's up to the adventurers to stop her.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. This story might not even happen, I'm a pretty busy person so we'll see. I don't have the best writing skills so that might also unmotivate me. But if I had this story stuck in my head for a couple years now so this'll be a great chance to finally get it out there.

I think it's great that you're ambitious. But 24 endings is a lot, and even if the story isn't that long or detailed, it's going to be tons of work. Even Eternal, which is very verbose and branches a lot, has only 13 'true' endings. And that's not even counting the fairly detailed and worthwhile reads that some of the 'dead ends' have.

I would consider working on something a little smaller just for your first time. But then again, I'm not exactly experienced and you might be better off asking someone else for advice.

So you agree that I'm inexperienced and therefore not a good person to ask advice from? :P

The top part.

Yeah that was my main concern as well, but naturally I'm a pretty organized person and think I can manage, it will be a really long project but I find that anything less wouldn't be worth it.

I understand what you mean. Sometimes you just want to work on something really big. I've got a huge epic in the works too.

"but 24 endings is a lot"

*looks at my own project, Legends, which has 24 playable characters, and between 4 and 12 endings for each.*

*looks at another project, Heroes of Kronnland, which has 29 playable characters, and between 5 and 15 endings for each*

*looks at yet another project, Silverbow, which is intended to have 104 good endings, 19 bad endings and no dead ends.*

Now where is that "not impressed" meme.

The best advice I could give from what I've seen is to stop talking about it and start working on it. Once you start on it, you'll not only be closer to finishing, but if you do need advice or tips, you'll be in a better position to ask what type of help you need, specificially.

Ambitious fantasy epic with 23 endings being planned!... But I need ideas...

Protip: If you're going to write something with 23 endings, make sure you can go on about it for 23 endings. Use your own ideas.
