I would rate, but i'm not really sure what this is mostly about o-O? I don't know anything about the characters, and there isn't any info on any of them, and this game could really use with just a description of what the team is, and who the people are. It falls short in a lot of places with short pages and choices that have really no explanation. This game seriously needs that critical info, as for someone like me, I have no idea about anything in this story or what the Suns even are? So, i'm giving no rating since i'm sure there's a niche for it for those who follow Basketball teams, it just doesn't fit me.

You were disappointed Kiel didn't give you concrete suggestions, so here you go:
Maybe if I knew who any of those people were, I could make informed decisions? If the game is only for Suns fans, okay, but be prepared for non-fans to rate it poorly. It would be more fun for non-fans if you gave us some information about the skills/personality of the players, so we have an idea of what the benefits and risks of different decisions are.
I think the other thing people are complaining about is that there already is a game with this exact theme.
Describe for people: what is different about your story? Why should people play your game even if they've already played the other Suns sim?
Also: when i play a GM sim, they're usually a whole season, not just one trade decision.
Overall, I'm not sure why some people really seemed to dislike this- I thought it was basically okay.

so it's like this, huh?

1. long comment, Kiel_Farren, but not a single specific criticism. no advice on what i could do better, not in the entire comments section. i could only try harder if i knew how it could be better. i think it's pretty darned good, personally. not great, but pretty darned good.

2. the reader does take the risk of wasting their own time. if "the community" was content with the original, they didn't need to play this. even if this is actually great, there's a risk before you try it. when you try anything, there's always a risk it could be bad.

it wasn't at all my intention to publish a lousy game, which is why i didn't. if you think it could be lousy, don't try it. there's no way around that.

"take responsibility for your mistakes."

Haha ... even your retorts aren't original. That's sad. As I've told dozens of lousy, pretentious writers before you: We, as CYS members, like good games and well-written stories.

If you make and publish a lousy game, you should take responsibility for that mistake rather than railing at other people for wanting quality.

The community liked the original Suns Simulator more than this one--it wasn't great, granted, which is why it doesn't have a "great" rating, it was okay. This is poor, therefore it gets a poor rating. Simple. Own up and try harder, or get out if you don't like criticism, but don't blame the reader, no one respects that.

The answer to your question: How would people know they don't like it if they don't play it?

The game is fine, though it isn't my favorite.

because it's kind of cool! yes, there was already a game like this. this one's different. you don't like it? then why on earth did you play it? take responsibility for your mistakes.
-- bds92 on 8/16/2015 1:00:07 PM
Why would you even do this?
-- Penworth on 8/16/2015 3:50:35 AM
Wasn't there already a game just like this?
