I think the rankings should be more like titles, so instead of saying Rommel, the Dramatist it should say Dramatist Rommel or The Dramatist Rommel.

Also, it would be good to add some customisation in the account editor, like saying Rommel, the _______ Dramatist.

Lastly, it would be good if the "by" line on storygames had the title as well. For example: WWII grand strategy, by the _____ Dramatist Rommel.

Please consider these ideas.

The first one I don't really care what happens, but for the second idea, no way.

Why? It should be optional, but why?

Just look at a regular Choose Your Story book, it doesn't say: "Written by Scott Jott - Writer of 15 Choose Your Own Adventure Stories". Scott Jott is a made-up person, but still, it doesn't say that.

If somebody wanted to know how prestiged an author was, then they would look at their profile. I have no problem with it being optional, but I don't see why you want it.

Sigh... why do people insist on comparing this site to CYA books?

Because this is site based on Choose Your Own Adventure books. Tell me why you want it anyway.

Rommmeellll Are you stupid?  I dont want to start this whole thing up again but seriously how do you think Alex designed this site?  By comparing it to CYOA's.  How can you possibly be against comparing it to CYOA's... IT IS A CYOA CREATING SITE.

Seriously man sometimes its ok to accept your ideas suck...

Text adventure games are created on a computer and revolve around game elements. CYOAs are written on books and are based mainly around story. Look at most of the games on the site; Wal*Mart is epic, but is obviously based on gameplay. Finals Week is a contest for a grade, WWII GS is based around high-scores, SIEGE and 8 goals, 28 rolls are just pure games and books cant use music or video. Most dont use graphics. Therefore, these storygames are text adventure games, not CYOAs. Also, this is not an idea, this is an inference.

The majority of these games are more similar to old DOS text-based games than CYOAs. Video, Music, Graphics, in-built variables and a concentration on gameplay make these storygames text adventure games.

Yes, but a Choose Your Own Adventure has nothing to do with books. CYOA means choosing your adventure. It doesn't matter what music, graphics or variables they are. Text-based adventure games are CYOA's.

Actually they are far more biased towards gameplay than story.

What's your point? They're still Choose Your Own Adventures, no matter how much gameplay:story ratio there is.

CYOA (Lone Wolf), based on story

Text adventure game (Warriors and Wizards) based and biased on gameplay

These two different things are very different.

Yes, but in this Warrior and Wizards thing, do you choose your own adventure?

Is Pokemon or Final Fantasy? If they were text-based, they would still be text-based RPGs, not CYOAs.

Text-based adventures are CYOA's.

you have not read my arguement:

Are Pokemon or Final Fantasy? If they were text-based, they would still be text-based RPGs, not CYOAs.

Also, Dungeon Hack games are text-based, but they are definately not CYOAs
