Epilogue
The walls shudder as hidden dynamite explodes under the feet of Oliver Thomas. The voice of the face echoes faintly, "you have won our power. The magical constraints on what lies beyond this wall has been broken. We tried to warn you..." the voice grows so weak that it ceases to exist.
As the smoke clears, Tara Dolan dusts off her hands. Another job well done, perhaps. Reggie has all but disappeared, and the strange magical feeling of the catacombs disappears with the demise of the last remaining alphas. The wall has disappeared as well, revealing a staircase behind. After eight days of dilemma three adventurers remain. Angela Dolan, Tara Dolan and Samuel Martin.
At the top of the staircase floats a round orb about the diameter of a basketball, glowing blue. A great power emanates from it, and as the three walk forward, it turns the minds of the three adventurers crazy in an instant. The amount of power that could be controlled by the orb is mindblowing, and the remaining three humans turn on each other (Lord of the Rings anyone?). Angela is the first to die, followed by Samuel, thanks to a small explosion. She'd done it. She had the orb.
For a moment she realises what she has done. Killed her own sister and a man in cold blood to get an orb. The guilt was overwhelming, almost to the point where she wanted to commit suicide. Were the alphas really trying to protect the human race when they defended the orb? She laughed the thought off as a surge of magical power filled her body. She didn't need them alive. She could just bring them back to life with magic. They were now only animated corpses, but for what reason should she care? She could change the world with this power..

Isaac Hammond was an ALPHA GHOST with the ability SILENCE. Using his knowledge of herbs and other medical/magical knowledge he can silence people for a day.
Laura Hart was a HUMAN with the ability INTEL. Being a security expert, she starts the game with background information on one other player (in this case, she knew Victoria LeGrand was the protector).
Isaac and Laura were in love - I'll spare you the back story that I sent out with the character sheet, but JJJ's would win this game by keeping both Isaac and Laura alive until the end, a near-impossible task. If one of his characters died, he would continue on and try and win with whichever side his remaining character was on (although it would only be counted as a half-win for him). Unfortunately, when Isaac was blown up by a random bomb attack by Tara, JJJ was left with only Laura, but also with knowledge on who EVERY mafia member was. This was the biggest mistake of the game on my part, as JJJ could now pick off the remaining mafia members one by one. I should have included a clause somewhere stating that if Isaac died, Laura would die too, but not the other way around (so if Laura died first, Isaac would already know who was mafia and not because he was mafia, so it wouldn't give one side such an advantage). I also should have made Isaac's ability immunity from the bomb attack in retrospect, but nonetheless it was a good game played by JJJ, it's just a shame that events meant he was randomly killed so early on.

Eliza Caldwell was an ALPHA GHOST with the ability FRAME. Due to powers given to her by the alpha ghost possessing her, she could frame deaths on other people.
Unfortunately Eliza was lynched on the first day, meaning her ability didn't really come into play much. The mafia originally had many different ways of killing people, for example Eliza could kill somebody with flame magic, which would make people suspect Alex Scally for example. Because everyone knew her as a loving grandmotherly figure I assumed she wouldn't be voted off so quickly - either somebody hates grandmas or nobody bothered to read the character descriptions haha. But yeah, her death ruined a fun aspect of the game early on. I can't really criticise Erudite's style of playing here because everyone lynched Eliza within five hours.

Will Leary was an ALPHA GHOST with the ability HEAD MAFIA. He made the final decisions on who to lynch.
Oliver Thomas was an ALPHA GHOST with NO ABILITY.
Considering both Eliza and and Isaac were taken out so early, I think ugilick did an INCREDIBLE job surviving so far into the game, especially considering Laura was around and could pick off characters one by one. He took a few risks, none greater than one night when he decided to take out Laura instead of going for the protector, and it paid off. His strategy was sound, and he quite possibly could have won if it were not for Tara's random bomb attack. Great strategy and a little bit of luck kept the game going for eight days after all seemed lost - I was very impressed.

Seaton
Reggie Morse was a HUMAN with the ability HIDDEN. The ability, unknown to Seaton, was that he could still post after death as a ghost.
Calla Toddy was a HUMAN with the ability PARANOIA. She would set traps every night, and everybody who tried to visit her in the night, human or alpha ghost, would instantly die.
Unfortunately, nobody fell for Calla's traps. She wasn't targeted at night once and so the ability more or less went to waste. I also don't know if anyone noticed but Calla Toddy is an anagram for Old Cat Lady. Reggie was killed close to the end too, so his ability wasn't used to its potential either. Both characters didn't talk much, and Calla did little to stop her own death, so not a very well played game.

Angela Dolan was a HUMAN with NO ABILITY.
Tara Dolan was a HUMAN with the ability BOMB. Whenever she mentioned the word "boom" in her post, the person who replied 10 posts after hers (not including my posts) were killed instantly.
Angela and Tara were just used to agree with each other from what I could see, which was a very straightforward tactic. Although she won the game, it was more luck than anything that her two bomb attacks killed two alpha ghosts and no humans were killed. Nonetheless, she was active and her reasoning was good, and she managed to go throughout the whole game without being targeted by the mafia (or lynched), which is impressive.

Maximillian Brown was a HUMAN with the ability REVIVE. Being a skilled magician, Maximillian could revive any dead person (not like necromancy, like the person is themself, not controlled by Max), however there was a 1/4 chance that the magic would also accidentally revive and alpha ghost to possess the person.
Connor Missale was a HUMAN with NO ABILITY.
Connor or Maximillian didn't post once the entire game. Connor did not put up a fight when in threat of being lynched, which wasn't good play. Ultimately these two characters did nothing but serve as extra numbers for the humans.

Tyson Smart was a HUMAN with the ability LOVED. Being respected by everyone on the expedition means Tyson requires one extra vote to be lynched.
Alex Scally was a HUMAN with NO ABILITY.
Victoria LeGrand was a HUMAN with the ability PROTECTOR. Knowing lots of healing and defensive magic, she can protect one person every night phase.
Giraffe was pretty active and played the game well. Her only mistake is not protecting Laura, which resulted in her being killed by the mafia. Overall it was a well played game, and she posted actively. Well played, unfortunately all her characters died though. Oh also, Alex Scally and Victoria LeGrand are actually the names of the two members from the band Beach House. Not that I expected anyone to pick up on it, but I was listening to Beach House when I was writing up the plans for mafia so that manifested into character names (which I had all but run out of ideas for at that point).

Casper James was a HUMAN with the ability DETECTIVE. Every night phase, he could determine the allegiance of one other player.
Samuel Martin was a HUMAN with NO ABILITY.
Casper investigated all of the right people, Laura, Victoria and I'm pretty sure Tyson and somebody else, but yeah the investigating was really well thought out here. Samuel managed to stay alive until the end, although appeared trusting of ugilick's character Oliver (which is why he was not killed by mafia throughout the game) which could have lost the game had Oliver not been blown up by Tara's bomb. Well played game nonetheless, good posts.
