A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron is nothing remarkable.
Unless you've experienced the death of a beloved pet. The book follows the many lives of a dog as he learns what his purpose is in each incarnation. It has the unique ability of being hilarious and tear-jerking at the same time, and you will feel each Bailey's (One of the dogs names) emotions as they happen as he begins to lose his belief that he even has a purpose, right up until the end.
(Note)
The sequel, A Dog's Journey, is crap.
