I read the first one way back in year five, and it was fairly good. In year six I read the second one, but I don't think it is as good.

Children of the Red King Series

I personally like all Charlie Bone books, they were a great read!

Children of the Red King Series

It reminded me of Harry Potter though. I don't know why.

Children of the Red King Series

Ya, me too. I think it was because some of their talents is similar to the people in Harry Potter casting spells.

Children of the Red King Series

Yeah, and it was in school and you got put in houses based on your characteristics.

Children of the Red King Series

Well, actually, it was what you are good at. Drama, Instruments...or Band, and the last one...I forgot. Blue, Green, and Purple capes. I wish there was a movie for that, wanna see how they all look.

Children of the Red King Series

Nah, it's not good enough to be a movie. Good book, but not movie good.

Children of the Red King Series

I HATE THESE BOOKS.

Children of the Red King Series

I think the front covers look horrible though. They didn't mention anything about the Red King in the second book though, from what I can remember.. what a bummer, isn't that like the whole point of the books?

Children of the Red King Series

Really? I never knew. I just like looking at the cover to see Billy and Charlie.

Children of the Red King Series

Yolonda and Daisy? I know both the names but can hardly remember the characters in the book. I can hardly remember the books at all, just that there were those houses and he had horrible aunts and he was in music house and that guy taught him piano.

Maaan, you have bad memory. Yolanda and Daisy = the two grandmas -_-

Yolanda teach the aunts to be evil.

Yes, I love mine too, but there's this aunt I really, really dislike..and notice how I don't use hate. I'm afraid she might spy on me and come to this site...*shiver*

I like all my aunts. I've got two. But then again, my family on my mums side is actually all like my mum's cousins, so if you count those, I've got like ten more.

Children of the Red King Series

Children of the Red King Series

Yea I ahve a bad aunit and a good aunty too... I think most familys ahve someone who they dont like, or dont even talk too.

Children of the Red King Series

Yes, I still haven't met lots of my relatives yet.

Children of the Red King Series

No, I didn't mean everybody on my mother's side is inbred, God, don't want that. I meant that we live near my mother's cousins, so they sort of count as aunts.

Children of the Red King Series

AH, I see.

Children of the Red King Series

So no, I'm not inbred.. ergh.

Children of the Red King Series

Lol. It is supposed to be Ilegal to be in-bred.

Children of the Red King Series

I tried reading the first one, but I just coulden't get into it. I really don't like the writing style..

Children of the Red King Series

what's it about? just a quick overview.. no need for the details?

Children of the Red King Series

Ya, I know. How can u not like it?

Children of the Red King Series

I agree with Weedy, it's kind of hard to get into the book the way the author writes it. It's either not descriptive enough or too descriptive, usually the first one.

Ha, it's not illegal to be inbred in Tasmania.

Children of the Red King Series

wow random.

Children of the Red King Series

Not really. Hiddendragon and maybe Miccy will know what I'm talking about when the rest of Australia has a bit of a go at Tasmania (the sort of triangle shaped island below the bottom east side of Australia).

Children of the Red King Series

Lol. yea Tassie has some odd ones... I think it is Illegal there though (I could be wonrg) we just pick on them ans say they are inbred.

Children of the Red King Series

Why do we do it though? Did they do something in the past back before thirteen years ago when I wasn't alive that made us pick on them?

Children of the Red King Series

this is so getting off topic...

Children of the Red King Series

Yea, its off topic, but, I will answere that. I think it is just because they are not attached to Australia, but are still part of Aus we pick on them. Just like we pick on NZ and Sheep. Tassie has 2 heads and are inbred. (i think the in bred is because it is a small island, with few people... so... you get it right??, and the two heads, came because incest causes mutation.. and other side effects, not usualy 2 heads but hey.)

Children of the Red King Series

Back to the point, does anybody else have any opinions on the series?

Children of the Red King Series

I LOVE THE BOOKS.

Children of the Red King Series

Haha, yeah, we all know that. Who else loves the books?

Children of the Red King Series

Hey, I forgot it was called Children of the Red King!!  I read at least two or three of those Charlie Bone books. . .

Those were great.  (Why can't I remember the Red King?)

Does anyone else think Jenny Nimmo might be Jennifer Finney Boylan?

Children of the Red King Series

Maybe it was too long a name?

Well, I only know about Jenny NImmo for writing the series..but not sure about Jennifer Finney Boylan? Who's that??

Children of the Red King Series

It says in her (Boylan's) bio that she wrote a series of popular children's books under another name.  Some people say it was Jenny Nimmo.

(Jennifer Boylan wrote her young adult books under another name because she used to be James Boylan, and some parents wouldn't want their kids reading books written by a M2F.)

Children of the Red King Series

Wow, parents these days..

I'd read her books anytime, even if it is written by a M2F :D
