The evil wizard Lord Enigma rules over the surrounding lands with an iron grip from within the depths of his impenetrable fortress Castle Conundrum. Many heroes have attempted to battle their way through the puzzles that litter the dungeon, but none of them have succeeded. Now it is your turn. Can you make your way through Castle Conundrum and defeat Lord Enigma?

 

This will be my entry for the riddles and puzzles contest. I may well not complete it in time for the 29th, as I have a few pieces of coursework due over the next couple of weeks. Still, I'll try my best and see what I can do.

Yes, good luck! Hopefully, you find the time. I think a lot of us are going to pushing the time frame...

Well, it's a plot I have read a few times on the site...but all those stories turned out to be really good, so you could be on a winner here. I'm very keen to try out the puzzles in your game once it's published.

If it's anything like the sort of stuff you often wrote in your Writing Workshop exercises, we can expect some pretty funny stuff. Will it have all that or will it be a more serious kind of deal?

That's the intention, but this is my first time properly playing around with the advanced editor, so I might probably end up spending more time getting angry at scripting and variables than writing jokes.

You will have to put a riddle/puzzle in the game. Just remember that before you publish.

Off to a slow start, as I get to add an inconveniently timed case of the flu to my list of excuses on why this won't be complete in time.

I have got some stuff done though, so I can happily say that two of the puzzles are complete, and 11 pages are written. Still plenty left to do though, so I'll have to spend the weekend sat at my computer cracking on with it if I want any hope of finishing it before the deadline.

Well I'm happy to say that this should be complete in time for the deadline. It's a fair bit shorter than I had originally planned, only 45 pages with 4 puzzles, but what with the time constraints I think it's turned out ok. All that's left to do now is finish writing up the last few pages and then proof reading and making sure all the links and variables are working.

Hooray! 45 pages and 4 puzzles certainly impresses me!

Castle Conundrum is finished! With a total of 4 puzzles, 49 pages and 233 links, it's a little more rushed than I would have liked, so the writing isn't quite to the standard I usually hold myself to, but overall I think it's turned out ok. 

Give it a try, and then feel free to tell me everything you've spotted that's wrong with it and I'll try my best to see if I can fix it.
