I'm trying to implement a gradient colour scheme to the background of a storygame im working on. I have advanced scripting enabled, Since the CSS doesnt appear to be valid, i imagine its using special CYS symbols, but i cant seem to find  the article on that specifically, variables and conditionals i have no problems with. I'm putting it in the global page, if thats any assistance. 

 

Never mind, i just realised i could make my own gradient using CSS, screenshot it then upload it to the site that way.

Don't do that.

Gradient colors in the background are awful. No matter what color text you use, some is going to fade. And if you adjust the text color throughout, that's even more confusing.

Unless, if you insist on having a background like that, use a solid background behind the text so that the text remains readable.

I can always just make the text white as mystic did. I'll see what it looks like though. I don't plan on it being any sort of glaring colour, probably just matte grey which is dark to begin with but gradually gets a bit darker, many websites can pull off graded colour schemes.

White text is even worse. Look, if you insist on doing this, please just block the paragraphs (see Cryogenic Failure, a few pages in, to see how that would look).

If i find it to be less than expected ill just drop the whole idea. Like you said, just being able to read it is the most important part, and I decided that im going to focus on actually making the story first before customising its appearance.

I think a beige (like CYS itself) but lightly gradiated will always work as a backup case. If someone struggles to read that sort of gradient I'm sorry, but you probably need some sort of audio assistance for all story games. Since I have really shit eyesight (literal degenerative eye condition) and I do just fine with well thought out gradients.

Cryogenic failure is definitely an artistic look, I like it. Ill save it and add it to my reading list.

Usually the problem with using the RTE is that you're using the RTE, and not the plain text you need for HTML.

This sounds like we're all being spared some gawdy Web 1.0 looking shit. 

CYS on this occasion, will not be spared from some gawdy web 1.0 lookin shit.
