Rise of Malay

An alternate Malaysia where, after a series of political crises, the country has descended into ultranationalism. The Malay nationalist movement, once about self-determination and anti-colonial pride, has evolved into a fascist authoritarian regime called "Kebangkitan Melayu" (Malay Uprising). It is the year 1985, and Malaysia is now a one-party ethno-state dominated by military parades, propaganda, and racial purges. Non-Malay minorities are marginalized, dissidents are disappeared, and opposition is crushed under the boot of the secret police. The regime idolizes "Ketuanan Melayu" (Malay supremacy), merging it with militarism, traditional symbolism, and cult-of-personality leadership. The country has isolated itself diplomatically but boasts about its racial "purity" and industrial strength.
