Player Comments on Error: Name Not Found
So...I'm a little bit disappointed in this storygame, to be honest. I was really intrigued by the whole concept...although I really can't say that choosing to put on a strange VR headset is a really smart move, and it would have been good to have the choice not to actually use the headset...even if choosing to leave it/not to put it on had ended in a game over, it still would have been good to have that option.
I really liked the errors in the original title screen, which helped make it feel even more like a game that was somehow glitched. And finding all of the different endings was pretty fun. But...I was never able to make it after reaching the outside. I tried the choices after going out the front door both having picked up the duck, and not picking it up, and nothing changed. I also did the same with the locked door. After finding the key, I assumed that it would give me the option to find a 'trained guard', but...there was nothing. And I explored every room in the house...and pretty sure I ended up with all of the endings.
With at least some of the endings, there was very clearly a presence there, who was watching and (on occasion) laughing at the player character's choices that resulted in them dying, but there didn't seem to be any clues or hints as to who or what this person was. It's possible I missed them...but if so, a bit more of a hint would be good.
I liked the fact that there was an extra option that appeared in the title screen page, which I deciphered to be notes. However, reading those didn't give me much to go on. Both the notes and the poster mentioned someone named John...as well as whatever creatures there are (which I assume have somehow infiltrated this world). However, I wasn't able to discover anything new, which was a real shame, as I would have liked the ability to explore more of the world. And in the version update, it mentioned that the hiding ending isn't accessible after finding the rubber duck. But I found it...and the ending was still there. However, there was no option to actually pick up the duck as an item, so maybe that was why?
I did really enjoy reading this storygame, but I feel like there were too many endings and not really enough background on the player character. The simulated world had more detail to it than the player character's own.
If this storygame is expanded, I would love to read a full version of it in the future, and potentially give it a higher score. At the moment, though, all I can give it is 5/8. It felt like there was a lot of potential that really wasn't followed through.

This is - oh, how might I describe it...
Let's just start from the beginning. I have played this game five or six times over the course of a couple months. And it just keeps getting better.
First, did anyone notice the (carefully italicized) letters in the in-game change log? Because, that really freaked me out.
Anywho. I love this game so much mostly because of its unique writing style. I've never known any other writer to write quite so factual. I applaud you on successfully imitating a piece of software.
About the plot, I found it quite intriguing. It is a bit short, and I think that it would do well with a sequel.
SPOILER ALERT --
I'm very curious about the seventh rule on the poster. Who are these people? Why are their names on a F$CKING poster of rules?
I have never once figured out what to do with the rubber ducky, although I know it has something to do with the key, and possibly the falling room or the front door.
I love the anagrams. Just hard enough to take you a while. Good job, I'd love to see more!
Also, I'm currently building a (very crappy) adventure game, and I'd love your feedback on it.
Love you! Peace out.

5/8 Not the best, not the worst
It was a shorter story game. I'm not sure how I feel about this, the overall story and grammar were good, I also like the fact that a blackt98 hole will eat you if you eat too much, that's certainly a good motivation!

My second rating after 7 months.
I like how there is now some background, instead of just a computer booting up, makes it less confusing. I noticed there some new options as well. I feel like most of them don't really do much since they just make you go back and is mainly just for show.

Much more fun with the update, although I couldn't find any use for gathering the endings.

This was really creative! There's a huge amount of effort on display, and I'm sure it'll get even better as time passes.

As the person in the comments who first commented on AI, I'd like to rescind that. I cannot pass the Turing test and just used UD's previous interactions on the site, but with the updates it's far more clear that this is man-made. Not bad for a first Storygame, just maybe next time ask for someone to be a beta reader (who is a little over suspicious of AI usage like me, perhaps). I'm in no way making excuses, it was rude of me to assume, and I'm sorry. Greatly enjoyable game. 5/8.

I really enjoyed this, and unlike other people I do NOT think this was written by AI. It should be kept in mind this is a story written in a way that could be misinterpreted as AI, but I believe that is simply from the setting being a video game. I'm quite familiar with artificial intelligence since I've programed smaller models.

Interesting first work. The exploration of what various kinds of links do is clear. Not a terrible premise for a story exploring how to do stories on this site. I am fairly certain that I found every ending, although as some point one of the endings (Life is But a Dream) cleared the Notes link and I could not get it to come back.
I disagree with the assertion that this is AI, I don't think it is, although the writing is oddly stilted. If it was AI it is certainly not an AI model I'm familiar with. The attempt at an Lovecraftian description of the various monsters was well done in one spot (Shadows) but very awkwardly in a couple others.
The AMOOESGTHWURTIYRRN endings are also frustrating as this feels like some kind of anagram, but there are no clues given anywhere I could find to help explain it. Adding some more description to the first couple of pages to give more context to finding the USB and loading it up might help bridge the gap for some readers and help pull them into the story more smoothly.
No significant SPAG issues, although the overall work feels shorter than the word count would indicate.

(Minor Spoilers)
It was short, but fairly enjoyable. I genuinely thought there would be a key, but maybe I'm just too stupid to find it. I originally got the Cat ending, I thought satisfaction would bring it back. I am also a sucker for 7 Deadly Sins based games and I noticed a small theme of that. Maybe I could've been harsher, but I enjoyed it. 5/8

It was a bit confusing at first, but then I got the hang of it.
I didn't know what was happening at first, but the game description explained it. This feels like something I would experience in my dreams. I originally got the ending where I was running. I than went back and it took me a few minutes to get all the other endings.
I like the concept of this, and would love to see a more in-depth, longer version of this story.
