It is interesting that you wrote this story for your Dad. I hope he liked it – though I do notice that the author apparently showed up on the site, quickly wrote the story before Christmas, then never came back! And they never logged in after 12/24, so I hope Dad actually got to read the story!

I do appreciate choices and options, after all, that’s what a CYS should be. But when the options all force you back to the main story by simply telling you that you made the wrong choice, that’s not really much of a choice, is it? You can create false choices that lead around and back to the main story, and that can be done effectively – but it can’t be done by simply telling the reader to go back and choose the other option.

The story overall was a little interesting and could have been even more interesting if the different options actually led to different paths and different endings. The writing is good and the descriptions are good, too. The story has lots of potential, but what if there was an ending where the squid wins? What if there is an ending where you get stuck working for the squid, or even work for it voluntarily? Overall pretty good, I hope Dad liked the story, thanks for sharing it with the site.

This is pretty creative and adorable. I especially love the little code! Although it's been nine years since this story was made, I hope that it was received well by your father. I recommend this story to anyone who is intrigued by the summary. It won't disappoint!

Very good! It was fun throughout and I liked it a lot. It was a full on Choose Your Own Adventure Game! Some parts didn't make sense but overall, it is GREAT!
