When I first stumbled upon this story, I thought this was just going to be an average edutainment storygame. And it was. I'll just go over the stuff.

Education Value: 2/8
This storygame is about finding diseases on trees and how to stop their spread. This storygame does nothing but explain the symptoms of the diseases the trees light have. That's it. So, I need more explanations than symptoms. It doesn't even tell you what disease it is. I need to learn more since I am not an expert of Forestry.

Entertainment Value: 3/8
This storygame had the chance to make trees interesting. However, it fails to do so. This storygame made trees as mundane as they are. There is a plot, and the death screens are kind of funny, and that's all the good things this storygame managed to have. Other than that, this storygame is relatively boring.

Plot Mechanics: 3/8
The plot of the storygame is about a forest manager that goes around, finds diseases, and somehow gets famous and has autographs? It doesn't make sense that a forest manager would get so much fame around doing shit that almost no one cares about! It's like a paint-drying watcher be comparable in fame with Taylor Swift! It doesn't make sense, but it's fair enough since it's an edutainment.

Grammar: 3/8
Nothing too alarming or special, the grammar is alright and there is just one error: is the protagonist male or female? I see the gender pronouns being mixed up a few times through the passage.

Gameplay: 1/8
The gameplay in this story makes me want to vomit. There is only one ending, and it's like a quiz with only one right answer, even with more than two choices! the death screens doesn't say 'End Game', it takes you back to the previous page. The gameplay can definitely be improved.

Overall, is just a boring edutainment that I could care less about. This makes me yell at the author for such a terrible gameplay. I feel like i'm done with these underperforming storygames.

This was a rather trial and error game for me since I must admit that I am not the most knowledgeable about the particular subject in this storygame. Still this ended up becoming something of a learning experience during my reading of this piece, and the information that I did end up gaining was quite interesting. I feel that as an Edutainment game that this story passed in the educational front of things. Now perhaps I can maybe impress others with this newly discovered information? :)

While I do think that the information in this is valuable, and that this storygame is one that those that have an interest in forestry may find interesting, I can't help but feel that this mostly appeals to that particular group of people that are already into the subject matter of a storygame like this. This really is like a quiz of sorts, with an incorrect solution on every page that can lead to the player having to answer correctly to proceed onto another scenario with that same formula.

Not that detracted from my enjoyment all that much, as it was the opposite. Simply having to answer correctly rather than having to start once again from the beginning probably helped with that feeling. But then again that leaves this feeling rather linear with one straight path, and a path with really not much happening in terms of story to make it something truly memorable in my opinion.

In the end, this was not a bad effort by any means. I only found myself wishing that perhaps the story didn't have to take a back seat of sorts while the information was relayed to the reader. For what it was this is still a solid Edutainment that pretty much nails the other essential points of what should qualify as a decent game on here. There was a good enough grasp on the essentials and fundamentals of things that I can for the most part look over certain things that I found to be lacking in this, though it wasn't much that I found to be the case with the writing that was presented here.

Very informative. Unfortunately I guessed most of the answers since I didn’t know much about forest management. I also believe this was a result of my lack of interest in the subject. While forest management might be a fascinating topic to some I found it kind of boring frankly.

This doesn’t mean the story is bad by any means. It has good grammar, and a few amusing quips once you get an answer incorrect. The narrative is also linear and I think it looks more like a quiz than an edutainment story. That’s fine but the subject matter itself is possibly what dragged the ratings down because it wasn’t all that interesting in my personal opinion.

My suggestion would be to turn this more so into a quiz with a points system to make people feel some sense of accomplishment for getting the answers correct as I feel that would bump up the ratings.

This was a very interesting quiz. I knew more than I thought I would which was pretty surprising. Good work.

By entirely guessing, I identified every single problem. I failed to fix any of them without several attempts, but hey, I identified it.

Kind of boring, but I thought it was funny how the difficulty said "trek through the forest" and it was about forestry.

You get the awser right or wrong there is no long term problums, just identify the desies and treat it and every one loves you. Also, why did I do nothing to stop the poacher?

I think the fact that this can only apply to an extremely small percentage of people detracts from the game. Anybody who hasn't studied forestry won't know what they're doing and will eventually start clicking randomly rather than playing the game and having fun.

Well, I must admit, that I had no idea what every single disease was. I think it would have been better if you could give more explanations to laypeople like us on this site. Great effort though.

This game fulfills its purpose. If you're an average user of this website, you should play this game if you're interested in the field of forestry, as recommended. Otherwise, I guess some of the responses for whenever you choose an incorrect choice are funny.

I liked this game because I learned stuff! ^_^
