Hey there! Not much to see here, I'm just a bored office worker typing away pretending to be a good little desk drone. I might lose my job soon (due to it being temporary, not because I'm terrible at covering up my procrastination) so if I become unemployed you may see my activity on here go up.

I'm currently working on a modern day CYOA called "Queen Bee". Feel free to check it out and give me feedback.

Queen Bee

For as long as you can remember, your parents have insisted that you are deathly allergic to bees and have gone out of the way to bee-proof your life: sealing the house from bugs, keeping you homeschooled, and even making you wear bee-burqas on the rare occasion you got to take trips outside.

However, now that you're an adult you've insisted on moving out of state for college. Your parents plead for you to stay, but the house feels like a prison. High school quickly passes and before long it's move in day at your University. After a long day of socializing and lifting furniture you pass out on the bed, only to be awakened by several bees near your head. To your shock, one starts dancing and you can actually understand what it's communicating. "Your majesty, my colony has waited generations to meet you."

Based on a reddit writing prompt, in this story game you'll discover your bee empire, your newfound powers and have ultimate freedom in deciding what to do with your new life.

Ok, I get it, this is my warning. Lesson learned. I'm sorry for acting so assblasted.

Can this thread be deleted now or is this part of the punishment?

Thanks, I was searching for it on the forums and I think I joined someone else's by accident.

I did originally take their feedback seriously even though they all caps it and ree'd. Cricket edited in that second paragraph later just to be a jerk, I clearly could take the incredibly subtle? hints from the all caps half and remember to research more in the future. Clearly I should have ignored it and not fed them, but again, I'm new and still learning the tone people use in the forums. Lesson learned the hard way.

Thank you for telling me your tale. I was aware of a discord but hadn't joined it yet because I assumed I would rightfully get shit for still having a pony OC photo icon in 2019. Definetely was not aware that they talked about it for a full hour.

Whelp, considering everyone that reads this thread knows I'm a brony now that secret isn't worth shit. I suppose you'll be seeing me on the Discord sooner rather than later. I have no plans of leaving here unless the mods make me.

I appreciate the advice, but I really can take it. This all started on a feedback post, so I don't think I'll ever be able to avoid it.

Fine, I'll give you and all the commenters a clarification since many of you think that I'm an over sensitive twat: The main reason I try to be civil on here is because I'm new and I don't want what little writing I've accomplished to be deleted because the mods think I'm too much of an edgelord. I might be a professional at work where I'm typing this, but at home I whip off my slacks and shitpost with the worst of them on 4chan. And not one of the casual boards like /b/. No, I go to one of the most depraved, fetish ridden board available: /mlp/.

Yeah, the brony board. I don't even get off to it, I've just been stuck in a fucked up fandom for years now and I'm trying to find something different and atleast ?somewhat? constructive to do with my free time. The more I post on the forums the more I realize that this place more or less acts like it's own board that's declared independence from the main site for ?being too normie friendly?. So now I'm here, and odds are by typing this I've probably just created a new copypasta. But I don't care if I become a meme on this website so long as I get to keep practicing my writing skills, fucked up details and all.

That being said, I look forward to getting to know y'all.

Lol, pretty sure you're shitposting but I'll add it to the list anyway. Thanks.

So this is what happens when writers try to get constructive criticism on here.

Before today I wondered why this site had so few users... Guess I got my answer the hard way.

Thanks for the recommendation, I've put Carniola bees at the top of my research list! Your input is appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read the chapter!

While I originally planned to make this a modern adventure, making this an alternate reality could be interesting. I already have plans for a lot of bizarre actions to be possible, so an alternate reality is going in the maybe pile. I guess it would be a fantasy reality since those appear to be really popular on here.

Ah yes, other species of bugs! That will be for later chapters and may involve an individual adventure to recruit each type. But now that you've got me thinking about species you've got me thinking about what specific bee species the protagonist will have at the beginning of the game. Up until now I was thinking of just having the bees you meet not know what species they are and have the protagonist research them in the school library, but now I'm thinking that was just plain lazy on my part even if this is just a fun hobby on the side. After all, the protagonist's powers are based of these specific bees!

You've given me some great ideas, thanks again.
