Scripting Language

What scripting language is used for storygames? It's similar to JS but has some odd syntax. I can't pin down what programming language it is. Is it custom or an existing language? It also slightly reminds me of Python, probably because of all the %'s involved

It's not an official scripting language. It's just something Alex created for story game creators to script with. It doesn't work in the real world.  It just gives you a basic concept on how scripting works. And Ford? You really shouldn't post in the Newbie Central when you're almost like 4 months old.

Ah so it's custom. Interesting. It had the simplicity of Ruby but resembled JavaScript, I didn't think it was an official coding language - but I had to make sure just in case :P

The newbie central is for newbie questions. Where else would this question go?

"Newbie Central" "Find some expert help here"

not

"Newbie Central" "If you've been here over a month you're not allowed to make a post here."

I think Advance Editor Forum would be more appropriate. I don't think your question is all that newbie, and besides, Newbie Central is really for new members. You're ancient. (Not really).

Yes but I'm not asking about the editor, I'm asking a question that a noob would ask. Advanced editor forum is for help on scripting - not asking what scripting is. If you'd direct your attention to the line of text under the name of the sub-forum - it'll state what the sub-forum was made for :P

Well, I'm pretty sure you know your links from your pages, don't you Ford? ;)

I'm also pretty sure you're not stuck on the editor...so I'm sure you don't really need any "expert" help here.

You're asking what scripting language we are using. That's not really a noob question, as you already know what scripting is, but you just don't know what type of scripting it is. If it was a noob question, most people would be able to answer it. Your question however, I'm sure only a couple of people who actually studied scripting can answer.

So, "Talk about it, Ford", "Ask for help on it, Ford", and "Compliment it, Ford".

Well it's too late now! xD I think it could go in either of the sub-forums.

It reminds me more of visual basic than javascript.
