I'm not using this in my current storygame, but I do have small plans for one after the current one.
The idea is that a stat is on a sliding scale of either/or, with two, opposite ends. The closer you are to one end, the farther away you are from the other. Sometimes, having it be high is useful, sometimes, low is better. The two sides aren't as diametric as good/bad. To cite a few (hypothetical) examples.
Chivalrous/Flirty
Charming/Stoic
Brutal/Finesse
Impulsive/Calculative
Could a stat working like this work, and if so, how would it be done?
