Daily Points
Some people who were in the site for a long time gained daily points in the past, why was it removed and could it be brought back?
Daily Streak
I’d like to suggest a streak-based point system. The longer a user logs in every day, the more points they earn: for example, 1 → 2 → 4 → 8, and so on. If a user misses even one day, the streak resets and all the streak-earned points are deducted to prevent abuse.
To keep things balanced, I’d recommend:
The account of the user needs to be 30+ days old
Automatic streak reset after 30 days, so users have to start over.
A 30-day streak requirement before points are officially rewarded.
For an even better system, you could also make streak progress depend on site activity, not just logging in. For example:
Log in daily.
Post in a forum.
Rate at 5+ stories and leave at least 1 detailed comment which has more than 5 sentences.
I hope this turns out to be a good suggestion and something that could add motivation to people to stay active on the site :D
