This feature was rejected 6/11/2007: no forum storygames. We want people to make real storygames: that's the purpose of the site. If you want to have a group effort you can already do that. march

credit to forum storygames?

Forum Storygames are an interesting idea, and the oldest CYOAs. These should be explored more because multiple story threads would be availiable to viewers, with only 1 being actually made. This can often be improvised on the spot. The drawback is that these things are communal and take a long time, but should be recognised more; can we have a separate forum for these? And also points for the publisher? Maybe we could turn this into an entire new sector, but that might be going too far...

What do you mean, forum storygames are the oldest CYOA's ? I don't think there even was an internet when the first CYOA's were written...

forum storygames seems to be the easy way out of making an actual storygame.... by giving credit, more people will make these and stop making actual storygames...........................

Yeah, I agree with solo.  ESPECIALLY if we start giving credit/points for forum storygames, everyone will do those instead of actually writing anything.  Look at how many we have going right now already.

Forum storygames are *much* easier than writing a real quality storygame.  After all, the author doesn't have to come up with an idea until someone actually picks it, and they only have to write one "screen" worth of story at a time.

Forum storygames can be fun, but they're no substitute for real storygaming.

Although I do think Rommel might be onto something with the "giving forum storygames their own space" idea-- or at least identifying them through their titles in the forums.

oops, sorry, the oldest form was SIMILAR to this one, but in verbal form. A storyteller sits in front of the audience and when he comes to a 'crossroads' the audience tell him what the protagonist does... In fact, I once saw a CYOA rap...
