How to deal with grammar.

Iv'e been jotting down this story for a while now, and one problem I keep finding myself, is that I have a habit of mistyping or using the wrong versions of Your you're and silly things like that. I was wondering if anyone could throw a tip my way of exactly how to deal with these tricky situations, especially when you get further into the story and have, as my current one does, like 30 or so pages. Do you usually go through the story once you've finished, making sure to correct everything? Or do you offer it to the public to see if they can find flaws? Or something else?

I was also wondering, if you ever wanted to almost pre-publish something, is there a way to do that so that certain people can review it and make sure it's up to site standards?

For the second thing:

I'm pretty sure the only way to "filter" (I use that word lightly) the people that see your book, is to co-author them.

It is tough to proofread your own work, simply because your brain "knows" what you meant, so you often cannot see the errors. If this is something you're worried about, I think the best way here to get someone to proofread your work is to add a person as a co-author. Either that or copy-and-paste all the pages of your story into some other document and let someone read that...

What they said above.

I would be perfectly happy to proofread it for you, and I'd imagine a few others would be as well.

Read it out loud. Your brain has a tendency to correct mistakes when you read it in your head.

Completely agree with getting a coauthor- somebody to proofread your story and test all the links for you. I'd be more then happy to help if you ever need one! ^^ Reading and correcting other people's stories gives myself motivation to write my own. I think you'd find it the same, yourself. If you'd rather not get a coauthor, try rereading your story and reading it out loud. Good luck!

Something I learned from my wife is to you use free text-to-speech software to read it back to you. That stuff has gotten pretty good as of late and really helps as one tool to assist in editing. You can get a plug-in for chrome or just use google translate directly in your browser!
