International (Not Global) Issues

Okay, just considering, just CONSIDERING a few things, but...

  1. Would it (not?) be better to increase/decrease US activity in the Middle East?
  2. Would it be (not?) be better to provide foreign aid to countries more likely to make use of resources (i.e. funnel more support to Romania instead of Libera / Congo / Nigeria)?
  3. Would it (not?) be better to improve existing gov't infrastructure over improving tech?

Lot of these questions kinda sprung when I got engaged in a discussion (for once, something that isn't bickering and black/white politics) with a few other students, so...yeah.  But if you think all of the above are total losses then...

  • What move would you like your country to make within the next 10 years?

Why Romania? It's not like we're a third world country? Ot does the rest of the world view us like that?

Lol, not even close.

But would sending money / resources to a country with a much higher chance of making actual use with it (grow the economic sector and thus create solid trade relationships, grow military, etc.) compared to a country hasn't been able to make nowhere near any returns be better instead of getting the same "You can make the difference in 1 person's life for a dime a day".?

Just random imagination.  Could be Mexico or Indonesia for all I care, but I get curious.

I guess, but our country ?is fairly well developed and the economy is "good", the only bad thing here is the obvious political corruption...

Well then...

Okay, besides a violent overthrowing of said government, how does one toss out corrupt people again?

If I only knew... we could arrest them for corruption, but I doubt that'll happen unless the new president will actually bother to order the police to arrest these said corrupt politicians.

Make better looking non-paper money. Make non-paper social security cards. Make an all-American drivers license instead of individual state licenses. One of these three, any of them, could easily take ten years for congress to agree on.

1. Decrease US activity in the middle east, then destroy all of it with a nuke. Or bomb the shit out of it - making it effectively ground zero of the world. Then no one has anything to fight over - and there's no one to fight over it.

2. It would make sense. However, because it makes sense - it obviously isn't going to be done.

3. Improve tech is the better option IMO. The government is so down in the dirt from a citizen's viewpoint that it's not even worth fixing - everyone is just waiting for it to completely fall apart so we can start over.

I'd like for Tony Abbot to stop making a fool out of himself and for us to actually get proper internet. I'd whore out for your Google Fiber any day but unfortunately, it's too expensive to set it up here. As well as that, no one ever seems to set up Aus or Oce servers /sigh
